I don't know what it is, but i truly have an appreciation for these types of vehicles. Maybe its the excitement of what you can do to make a car look amazing with just a little elbow grease. Barn finds too, it seems like every show you attend there is hardly anything original anymore, and PLEASE, I love upgrades and creativeness, to each their own, I'm just saying, to walk into a car show and to see a "barn find" vehicle sitting there, im gravitated to it more so than the restored cars! LOVE THEM! I guess it makes our minds wonder in amagination and ponder what we could make the car into.

I’ve said it before, as much as I like them I get board at shows with Camaros, Chevelles and the like. I like the different ones. That’s why I made a custom wagon out of my El Camino.

Well said!!! And agree totally! Its not that I don't love or appreciate the cars you mentioned, its just row after row of the same thing, it gets repetitious QUICKLY and i find myself board!! I usually end up going over to the market area to treasure hunt lol But yeah, LOVE the oddity niche vehicles!

I also agree. Seeing the same types of cars does get monotonous. I find it refreshing when you see unusual cars show up that you normally don't see at car shows and cruise-ins. I do get "bored" seeing Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Chevelles. It's actually cool when you see a few G-body cars show up.
It also irks me when I see a row of new Corvettes and Mustangs. They're nice cars, don't get me wrong...but a whole row of late model Corvettes.....yawn!
I appreciate cars that people actually build and put their time, blood, sweat and tears into. Those are the folks that get my respect, not the guys that go to a dealership with their checkbooks. No creativity there.

Doug, I hope one day we get to see what you've been working on for the past several years.

There are a LOT of cars out there that are "Common". Camaro's, Chevelles, Mustangs, Corvettes, and I might piss off some people here, but the G-Body Cutlass falls into that category for me. After all, they were the #1 Produced vehicle for what, 2-3 years in a row producing Millions per year? Even to this day, I can drive in any direction and find a G-Body Cutlass within 10 miles.. lol

Which is also one of the things that made the Grand Prix my choice of G-Body.. You just don't see them very often at all.

Funny you should mention that, hence one reason why I purchased my 1985 cutlass 4 Door, it was actually a lot more money than the 2 door's with 30+K on it, but love that 4 door look, something "you don't see everyday" ..Pics below, car was pulled out of the garage for photo's...its never seen winter! 35K ORIGINAL.

Nice find! That's in superb condition. I'm guessing the previous owner was an elderly person who probably had to stop driving.

Oh yeah... there are the oddball G-Body Cutlasses that are cool.. Like yours and the salon hatchback with a 5 speed.. lol

I feel the need to interject the definition of Gonzo here:

Gonzo, adj.
outlandishly unconventional, outrageous, or extreme; very strange or unusual; bizarre

Your 100% right! Long story short, Picked this up in Maryland from the original owners. At the time she had ordered the car, it took almost 6 months to get it!! She had began selling real estate, and wanted the 2 door, but it wasn't practical for that line of work showing houses. While the car was on order, her father passed and left her his vehicle, so this car was seldom driven and mostly on weekends only to their beach house. It kinda became his car and his baby. It was a sad day for them when i drove away with it being he could no longer drive. I still keep in touch with those wonderful people.
