that's an idea, I can pick up a piece to see how it fits ... :)
Would need to find it in black. Gray wouldn't do it. Unless you like gray. Painting it won't get you anywhere because it'll rub right off.

Get several feet of it, pre cut it all, and wait for that set to crack and you'll still have a set left over. Got to make sure the stuff can take the heat/cold and UV.

I have my crap somewhere. It's located in box 797, which I did spy recently. Just don't know if it was in the shop or in the office or the closet....yikes. I need some RFID stuff for all this crap.

20164509- short channel, front or back, 4 per car.

20154510- long channel, inside edge, 2 per car

Long discontinued from GM.

As I understand it, sometime in 1986 the channel version was no longer used and the tops had no plastic trim. They had a "Type 1" and "Type 2".

The plastic channels age and get brittle over time and eventually crack in some cases. If you bought new glass panels back in the day, they came pre-installed. But you could have bought them separately as well. I think I have the last NOS set on the planet. They're already bevel cut and the correct length and material, so I'm set.

If you can find some sort of black plastic channeling, you may can replicate it. It's simply glued to the channel. I believe with butyl strip caulk.
You wouldn’t happen to know the p/ns for the trim vs no trim? My nos set does not have any. To they help with sealing?

I don't think they came without the trim and I don't think they help with sealing, I think the trim protects the edge of the glass

20624934 and 20624935 for RH and LH T-top glass for 86 Type 2 through 88. They do not have the trim pieces.

And while the trim doesn't actually do any sealing, per se, they do help protect the glass edge. But since they're attached, the trim may or may not form into the rubber seal and if you didn't use them, there may be a slight gap. Whether the used seal would make up for that, I don't know. TBH, I don't know the exact difference between the glasses with or without the trim. Maybe the trimless stuff has a slightly different grind on the edges? I dunno.

The glass for 81-84 is listed as "black" and is p/n's 20359056 for RH and 20359057 for LH.

85-86 Type 1 top glass is listed as "gray" and is p/n's 20513036 for RH and 20513037 for LH.
