I bought a couple of these on fleabay, will find their way onto the Gypsy wagon
That is the USS Enterprise. CVN-65. Had a few friends get sucked up out of prototype class (8106) to go there (The Enterprise helped kick Libya's azz in 1986. A friend that was on the ship told me they parked so close they could probably throw a rock and hit one of those camel humpers) and mostly the then-new USS Carl Vinson, CVN-70. The Vinson was just manning up due to commissioning (1982) and our class was just finishing up Nuclear Prototype training. Like a vacuum cleaner, the Vinson vacuumed up nearly the entire classes before us, then us, and then after us. Holy crap. I volunteered for submarine duty early, and due to an unfortunate drug raid which wiped out half of the Engineering Department on the submarine before I got there, I was one of the few that actually got one of those billets I asked for. Otherwise I think I'd have ended up on the Vinson as well.
Sorry, I digress. But it's still funny!
Haha! I haven't heard that phrase in years! What's worse is when you're on laundry duty and run across some dimwit's sh*t that has his recently violated PS in his ditty bag! ACCK! Return entire bag to sender with a note "No patrol socks!"
