Forgot to ask how many coats did you use on the frame and how many cans did it take?
(3) coats of primer = (5) regular size cans. (3) coats of paint = (4) large size cans. It' the same stuff I used to paint the rear axle. The pics of the paint is about (5) pages back.

Yes I saw it, it looked like it lays down pretty smooth. I’m going to be doing the same to my GN this summer which is why I was curious as to how much it took

A few things to report... I got the front jounce bars, GP front frame brace, and Blazer rear sway bar primed and painted today.

Got the trailer safety chain "rings" removed from the hitch. I still have some clean up to do before prime and paint. I'll have it painted next weekend.

I also ordered (1) s10 lower control arm. These come loaded with bushings, and ball joint. The bushing sleeves are larger in diameter. So I need s10 lower control arm bolts. I'll get those from the junkyard for nothing $$. These control arms are clean, painted, and very tough to beat for $49. I wanted to compare with my original G Body arms before buying both. I'm going to buy the other side, and install the larger diameter bolts.

I also got a couple parts cheap from Rock Auto. Camaro front sway bar end links @ $1.69 each, and a AC Delco center steering link @ $27.79.

Yes, but I don't have time tonight to put it all together. I will list it all for you. If you need help locating anything, PM me, I'd be happy to help.

I have finally made room in the shop to be able to have the frame in it's own place, and the body in it's own place. Now I can start getting the suspension back together. I got the trailer hitch/frame brace, UMI rear shock brace, and the Jegs dual exhaust crossmember mocked up.

IMG_1458.JPG

I received the other S10 lower front control arm. Can't beat $49 and the fact they are complete with bushings, and ball joint.
IMG_1474.JPG

I went ahead and bought UMI S10 control arm bolts. They were cheap enough, and much easier than removing them at the J-Yard. I test fitted them, and they fit perfect.
IMG_1473.JPG

I got the 34mm F Body hollow sway bar painted.
IMG_1459.JPG

Bought some Prothane 34mm poly bushings.
IMG_1453.JPG

Bought a GM trailer hitch plug. It's hard to paint inside tubing (where the receiver would go). I got enough in there without the paint running all over, but this It was $5. Just a little finishing item...
IMG_1467.JPG

I went to the J-Yard today, and got a few small things. Finally found a loaded Cutlass, and got the Pass. side remote mirror bezel. I had been looking for this piece for a few months. The Cutlass on the Left, ( obviously I have to clean & paint ) and the Caprice on the Right ( just because ...)
IMG_1470.JPG

Also got the radiator cross braces today. Got them cleaned up on the wire wheel. I will prime & paint tomorrow.
IMG_1472.JPG

I'm hoping to have a complete rolling chassis in about (2) weeks. I need to order coil springs. I "think" I have decided on Moog 5660 for the front, and Moog 5413 for the rear. Anybody care to comment on that choice???

Did not get the radiator / core support braces painted. I had issues yesterday that kept me from going to the shop. No big deal. It's kinda rainy today, so no painting. But I did find a little happiness while searching last night. I know a couple people had not been satisfied with aftermarket Olds oil pans. Poor fit / finish from Chinese Ebay, and Milodon. So I decided I wanted a BBO 455 factory pan w/ baffle, so I just waited it out, and found one. Guy wanted $40, so I offered $30. He accepted. Not even (2) miles from my house...even better! It's in pretty dam good shape. Pan rails are straight. No rust to speak of. Drain plug in really nice shape. I had some degreaser here at the house, so I let it soak a few minutes, then rinsed and wiped it out. I then sprayed some WD-40 on it, and bagged it tight in a garbage bag. Good 1st round clean up. I will sand & paint soon.
