Yep between the broken manifold bolts fixed, forgot about them and the much better trans, that is a a score. My wife pointed out a minimal rust 06 3/4 ton with a 6L with 200,000 Km was a little tempted.

I had to if nothing else because it has a title and with the suburban and square body crew I'm somewhat grounded as to where I can go. I can't wait to go see some of my family with Lauren now that I have something that will be comfortable over 65mph LOL

So I don't know if anyone else has noticed but many big parts manufacturers and suppliers have sails going on and hole sail closeouts on eBay and Amazon. I personally am taking advantage of that. I drove the new truck to the building last Saturday and noticed it has a few problems typical of a GMT 400 with 245ish a warped rotor and a shake in the front end that follows after your off the brake. It also has a low brake pedal. So I figured it probably needs pads and cut the rotors maybe ball joints. I was checking out the rotted rear crossmembers when I noticed they only replaced one rear shackle and the other one has a rot hole in the middle of it. With that I went home and did some pricing. Well instead of ball joints I found that Detroit Axle has front end kits on eBay for it. New upper control arms loaded and new lower ball joints for bolth sides was $73 that's a no brainier for me. I know I have a brand new set of tie rods in the garage I bought for my 05 and never put on . Then I started looking for brakes. Hears where it starts getting interesting my last 2 400 had expensive brakes to make them stop better towing an overloaded trailer and they made a big difference. That said I hit eBay again and found a sale! 4 coated cross drilled and slotted rotors with some kind of good pads $154. Then last night I was looking at it in the driveway thinking my other 2 I always wanted to do a small lift on them for a tough stance but couldn't because ... Snow plow! Well this truck ain't getting a plow! So I went inside and ordered the keys with the shock extenders $31.83 and a set of 1.5 shackles with bolts $49.33 the wife hasn't said anything yet so I guess all is well lol just waiting for parts now

If you're doing all that, you might as well put half shafts and wheel bearings (probably your vibration). That's about the only thing not listed!
Not yet but I just ordered a used gas door in color lol because I do bodywork and paint for a living

I've got a pile of parts for the truck and a 3 day weekend time to replace the suburban with the GMT 400

I always wondered WTH you guys were talking about!
Square body (73-92)
GMT 400
GMT 800 (like Eric's truck and yours)
GMT 900 (like mine)
I don't care beyond that.
