Ok my son's 86 Olds 307 headgasket blew. So I had a 350 rocket out of a 74 Olds Omega .The 350 had points distributor. I took the distributor out of the 307 to install in the 350. My question is how to set the timming ?The engine runs but I'm not sure how to set the timming. The distributor has a big plug. Any help would be appreciated.

If you used the carb off the 307, just plug the distributor in. If you used a non-CCC carb, you need a non-CCC distributor. Shoot for 14-18⁰ of initial and 34-36 total.

Oh, and all 350s are "rockets" like all Chevy 350s are 350hp. 74 is the beginning of the smog era, so it's probably a fire breathing 8:1.
