Hey guys! I am about 50% into my 4 speed conversion and I just wanted to post some pics and keep you guys updated. Not only that but this post will inform you of neck changes that even your new conversion kit will need. Hope you enjoy. PS this may take some time to upload so if you dont see everything at first be patient.

So I purchased the Parts Place 4 speed conversion kit off of ebay. 289 bucks with free shipping. Great dea?.... yes and no. Although rounding up all the parts for 289 bucks is a steal, there is a reason it's only 289 bucks...

First issue found was that the brake pedal pin where the master cylinder connects to the pedal needs to be smaller diameter and also needs to be dropped down one hole. Easy fix, break out the grinder and use your old one from your automatic style brake pedal, press it into the new pedal with your bench vise and tack weld it. Done.

Second issue, the clutch linkage rod that runs from your clutch pedal to the z-bar is correct, however the company drilled the hole in the clutch pedal for the rod end too big. Again, easy fix with a trip to ace hardware for a bronze bushing insert for 75 cents.

Third issue that seems to be.... The geometry of the z-bar seems like it needs to be straightened on the engine side of the frame. Toss it in the vice and break out a large adjustable wrench to tweak it.

Fourth issue, the kit comes with pretty much everything....EXCEPT a firewall boot/grommet for the clutch pedal rod.

Again, I'm only 50% through this conversion so as I find more issues I will post them. Just a quick heads up and some pics for anyone doing the swap. Cheers!

Nice, further along than I am... I need to check Ace for some bronze bushings. Didn't know they sold those. I feel like every hole is too big...

There's a large clip of some sort in the package that I have no idea what it is for. Some basic instructions would have been nice.

Kinda started to question the quality when I noticed the brake pedal pin. Lol

The clip goes inside the z bar to keep the nylon bushing from coming out. I can send pics if youd like

I would love a picture, if im not being too much of a pain in the *ss.

I was assuming a nylon busing went on each end of the z-bar , but there's only one clip. I'm really confused by the whole thing. LOL

So what's supposed to keep the inner bushing from sliding too deep inside the bar?

Another question... With the rod to the clutch for screwed all the way in my pedal is way the hell up off the floor. Doesn't seem like there's any adjustment to fix this.

There is lip inside to stop it from going too far in. As for the high pedal, did you get the bumper stop bracket that mounts above the clutch pedal? It's not in the diagram I posted but if it wasn't included/used you'll never get a good adjustment.
