All:

Would anyone happen to know who offers replacement bushings for the factory Hurst shifters? The transmission is the original Saginaw M20 4-speed, and the shifter is the factory Hurst 4-speed shifter. I ordered a set of replacement Hurst shifter bushings from The Parts Place, and they're too large. I'm sure the same would be the case with the Hurst 'Pit Pack' kits. Thanks in advance!

I'd try a Hurst nylon bushing kit as the hole bore should be the same between the over the counter & factory installed shifters. But Classic Industries does have a bushig kit for factory (late '60's to mid/late '70's GM/Hurst OE) shifters but no pics on the web site.

From what I've gathered: The ID's and OD's are the same in both kits (Hurst and The Parts Place). I may give that Classic Industries kit a shot. Ideally: I was hoping to find some bushings that are a definite direct replacement.

Guy:

I edited my original post.

Ok.
Just so you know,an M22 is a Muncie,not a Saginaw.
Did your pit pack look like this one;
Also,and this is just my personal preference,I would use the steel bushings over the nylon.
If you need any more help,I can recommend Paul Cangialosi,or 5Speeds as he is known.
Here is a link;
He does sell bushings,but he does say they will not replace factory rubber bushings.
He may be able to point you in the right direction.
Might not hurt to send him an email.

Saginaw M22???? :wtf:

The only bushings I would use are the Hurst kits Guy listed; they're either nylon or steel, no rubber. Check yaself, befo ya wreck yaself.

From the Hurst Performance Catalogue, 332 7302 for 3-4-5 speed manuals, kit includes steel bushings and spring clips. If you are serious about Hurst components, you may want to swap out the factory muncie levers and sub in the Hurst ones. That would guarantee that the bushings will fit without having to do any oversizing of the factory openings. Be aware that early Muncies used shifter forks with studs and the later units used bolts it shouldn't affect the installation of the levers in terms of fit, only in terms of the hardware.
