Im trying to avoid a sump as much as possible because i hate the loud whining sound lol and fuel lines out the back. Ive been doing alot of research trying to figure out how to fit enough pump to hold 900ish rwhp on E85. Not very successful so far.

The sump really isn't visible unless you're looking. And at 900hp, hearing the pump at startup is good thing imo, and I have a feeling you'll have other items making more noise than the pumps when it's cranked up.

My last car that had tripple 450s in tank, you can hear it at startup. I just am not a fan of sumped tanks, you can still see the lines coming out of the tank unless you put a fuel cell in the trunk.

Has any one ever cut the hole out and welded another fuel hat to it?

My single 350 walbro in the tank is really quiet (when I prime it it's tough to tell it's even running) but honestly having one pump on ethanol is a little close for comfort.

When does the rod come out!?!?

Ive seen some people use the ricks tank and billet hat but those are big money, and at that point is it worth the look or worth the money!

I think you could weld in a second hanger or a bigger hole but other than a Rick's tank I wasn't able to find a big fuel solution for the stock tank location.

I was trying to accomplish the same thing but I gave up and will stagger the 4303 to come on in boost with the ecu. I like a sleepy sound.

Ive been tearing apart the B motor today and swapping valve springs to the 317 heads.

Prior to a good wash down in the driveway.

Its almost tolerable when washed. This thing has a lot of shmeg stuck to it. I pulled the rockers and went to town with the pressure washer.

Springs installed. This was the first side.

I flipped it over to swap the oil pan and found this beautiful sight.

Ok, not so bad. Could be worse. At least I know its never been messed with.

Until I find this. #1 is spun. Now I know why it had no oil pressure.

So I kept ripping until I got to the rods.

I know everyone likes a budget build. I get it. But for peace of mind don't you think it would be better to bite the bullet and get some forged H beams and pistons ? Maybe less than a grand total?
Just my humble opinion 😌

Greatly appreciate the offer, but I have a plan.

I was going to mention you ought to be going on the hunt for a use rod or two (or all you can get lol).

I was going to mention earlier, but I don’t want to p on anyone’s party ever. The 6.0 is hands down a better plan for maximum go, but ...... the tuning window is sooooo much smaller than a 4.8 or 5.3 because of the better stroke to rod ratio - much more forgiving. And of course, the E makes many a mistake go away. I had my 4.8 at 13:1 on 12 degrees at 21 psi.......without any unwanted windows in the block or bent rods.
Your 6.0 at that much boost would be another 150-200hp higher, but like, a, wtf, I can’t keep it in the road at the 800 or so it’s making with the 4.8. I think a 6.0 will kill me lol 😂 👍

I have access to a couple pistons and rods as well - let me know.

You guys are awesome. Truly. Thank you.

I think I am going to sleep on it. Do some research and maybe try some local LS swap groups first, and make a decision from there.

And you are right, a 4.8 or 5.3 is a much better choice for what I am doing. However as we have seen recently, I don't often make the best decisions. lol
