Put the insurance back on the HellKitty yesterday night and took it for a boot today. Thankfully I didn't forget how to drive stick in the last six months.

A few things I've done on my "new" truck. I added some OEM mudflaps front and rear. I installed an OEM tailgate dampener, and I swapped the black mirror caps for chrome ones. Don't have much more planned for it. Maybe a small thing here and there, but nothing crazy. It's been fantastic thus far.

Drove it home from friends house where it's sat for 2.5 months.

Spunky.

keep in mind, this sat for 36 years in a driveway in a 300 person village in rural nebraska.
replaced bent pushrods, got it running. it died, distributor seized. tore apart the whole front of the engine, replaced everything.

got it running again. lit grounds on fire 3 times.

now its at my house. only blew 1 40 year old tire.

So I showed y'all the little bodywork job I did, the 2nd part of the story is that the lady was gifted a Prius, and so she gifted us her Rav4 which is in excellent condition. We've been having cat woes all year, and it truly is answered prayers to have someone bless us with a vehicle! A few diets, it's a 2012 Rav4 4wd with a 4 banger that has 121K on the clock. It runs like new and has been meticulously maintained since new, we're the 2nd owner of it. I'll ditch my Mazda 6 since we've had it 11 years now and it's lived a good life, then take the Mariner from my wife. I don't drive but a couple days/week since I'm in the shred truck mostly. Here are a few pics....

Scott, I'd rather drive the truck instead of that Rav4 or whatever it is. Free is good, but still...I guess it's better than getting the Prius.

For sure Mike, I don't mind sitting up high in the International on the daily, but the Rav4 does ride and drive pretty nice tbh. Does it have the cool factor, absolutely not, but again it was given to us and the wife likes it!
It's gonna go get detailed soon though, the wife's coworker is a dog transporter and also has a couple shedding pooches, so there is a need for a good cleaning.

Highlighted the MAIN reason above. I can't knock a gift for sure. My mother-in-law willed me her 2012 Ford Focus with a ridiculous 3,800 miles on it when she passed. I found out why after she passed. It was simply because I went with her to help make sure she got the best deal on it. I thought it was because she thought I must have needed another car! :giggle: I tried to get her not to will it to me as I really didn't want or need it. She insisted. I'm conflicted on selling it, though because my wife says when she drives it or rides in it that it reminds her of her mom. Old people are strange sometimes, myself included.

Friends don't give friends Fords... or herpes. They're the gifts you can never forget you got.
