If you keep the Focus for a little while, and decide to do some deeper investigation into them, there are a couple of Focus forums you might browse through.
AllFord Focus, and FocusFanatics. It seems that some of the Focuses can be bumped up to some amazing horse power levels.
I don't know about all that. It's an A to B vehicle. Right now, it's doing service as my "test mule" for engine/emission decals, etc., or to go pick up GM parts at the dealership. :) It's hard enough to get past the blue oval on the grille just to get in it, let alone lurk around on a forum about Focus cars. Not going to fault those who love them, but I can't ever see me falling in love with this car. The wife makes it harder since it was her mom's car and makes me guilty every time I mention putting a For Sale sign on it. It doesn't have enough miles on it to know how it's going to survive down the road service-wise. And I'm not interested in adding anything to it like wheels/tires or engine mods or any of that. It's bad enough trying to find maintenance parts for it.

I've found out there's like 4 different variations of coolant hoses for it depending on body style, options, etc. Luckily it has the old Ford numbers still on the hoses, so that helps narrow stuff down. Except sometime or other they had to modify their numbering system so the "old" numbers needed to be updated to the "new" numbering system. Which is what happens when you don't use strictly a number system like GM.

So. . . one of the houses = one of your investment properties?
Well, it's a second/rural home on about 7 chainlinked acres with a private lake.

We've been looking at maybe listing it for sale. I think mind has been made up now for certain. It's just nice to have a retreat... except like now, when it isn't.

It was where wife got her ring about 7 years back

It needs to match the year of the car to be 'sort-of' safe.

If it's not costing you money keep it. It won't go down in value.

Yuck, woodworking is the worstest.

I hate sawdust!
But there's something satisfying about making something with your hands, and, the scents of cutting the wood are right up there with race gas, shop fumes from auto fluids/grease, or fresh tires.

Am I going to be turning exquisite patterns on a lathe from square stock... not these days. But a mitre box or a little measure twice cut once, assemble with an air nailer.... construction adhesive on some fine trim... nothing wrong with that.

My dad had a 30x40 shed. Half of it was a woodworking shop and the other side was a hotrod shop. I grew up with both. I helped plain a lot of boards. Before my dad died he had me tear down the dividing wall. It is more of a storage shop for me now that I have my own shop at my house. The one at my mother's has all kinds of woodworking tools lining the walls, cars, parts, and a horse buggy. I guess in return I know a little about a lot of stuff. I prefer fabricating and welding over woodworking. I can add onto a steel stick if it is too short.
