Just had a good time talking to a young man at the auto parts store. I had stopped in for a set of headlights for my wife's Taurus. When I came out of the store there was a '79 Malibu parked beside my '78 Caballero. I showed him Gbodyforum.com on my phone and he seems excited to know about us. I think that he will be cruising the website and maybe sign up. Pics below.

Saw this 5th gen ekly today.
I'm leaning toward believing that it is a '78 due to the headlight/wiper switch configuration, though the grill is different than both my '78 and my '79.

I think that the taillights are '78 also, I need to see mine. I put '79 taillights in my '78 bumper, and did the wiring change to make them work.

Edit: Arriving home, I see that his taillights are '79up. I did also notice that his front corner turn lamps are different than my '78 and '79 as well. So, he may have an '80 or '81, though the headlight/wiper switches still puzzle me, unless they are different based on sweep speedo and gauge package clusters. My '78 was originally a sweep speedo, while my '79 is a gauge package cluster.

Thumbed up an 86 Monte Carlo that pulled up behind me at a traffic light. Put a big grin on the driver’s face. Made my wife and son cringe to be in the car with me.😜

Looks like a stock 1980 layout to me

The guy down the street that always has the wild stuff, is focusing on LS swaps and is now booked for the season according to my buddy that follows him. Got a few lined up ready to go I guess
