awesome.

Once I get this oil pan changed to the Holley 302-2, it's time to start disconnecting the old 3.8 liter from the car... going to take my time with that. Working in a shed is, well, better than working in a parking lot.
Work with what you have. Looks like a pretty clean environment, which is good.

The remanufacturer used nylon insert lock nuts on the windage tray. Reusing them wasn't wise. I managed to cut the windage tray properly per the Holley instructions, everything fit up as expected no interference. Two of those nylon insert lock nuts would not torque to 18 foot pounds without spinning. Of course it's not going to come apart, but I put a jam nut on them.

Interesting thing, the remanufacturer used some kind of lithium grease on the pickup tube o-ring, and it caused it to swell up like transmission fluid additive expands gaskets. I replaced that O-ring
