If you don’t have to have GM original, look up Spectre 8741. That’s what I have on my 79 305-4brl

Do you have a photo of your installation ? The air cleaner inlet is about 3 1/2 inches OD and the Spectre part is only 3 inches. Did you still use the part of the original duct that screws on to the rad support ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure if yours is exactly the same. Seems like Malibus or 2brl carbs have different ducting? Some have the air duct on top of the rad. support.

I have found that the 5.0 liter 2 barrel and 5.7 liter 4 barrel cars on the 78's used a molded plastic duct that had an integral scoop. It mounted to the top of the radiator support. It had a large opening in the air cleaner snorkle. The 79 5.0 liter 4 barrels had a smaller snorkle and used a tube that hooked to a molded plastic scoop that mounted between the right side head light opening and the radiator opening on the radiator support. From what I have seen, the V6 and 4.4 liter V8 cars used the smaller diameter tube but still mounted to the top of the support. I am not sure why all the variations.
My favorite was the factory78-79 5.7 liter air cleaner with the 78 2 barrel tube.

Mine mounts to the top of the rad cradle as shown here and in the post from gnvair. I'll have to check if Spectre makes a 3 1/2 dia. duct. Thanks for your quick reply. Jim

Yours is the same as mine, mounted on top of the rad support. See above.
