For the umpteenth time, I don't know sh*t about HP Tuners. Before I got to doing anything wild and crazy, I'd confirm timing via timing tape and a timing light to make sure that your timing is exactly what you think it is. Perhaps you've already done that, if so then carry on.

I wish I had some videos of some of my 'dialing sh*t in' launches at the track where I experienced a bog - yes 5-6degrees and it looks like I'm in slow motion. 12 degrees at 8 psi and I turned the tires to smoke on a crappy burnout (coldish tires). It's a fine line on a budget suspension. I think we both just need to find a consistent, reasonable 60', then we can let the motor do the work.

Is the rain ever going to stop for the love of God?????

I watched your cone course video again, holy batcrap Batman, you stomp on the throttle and the 2+2 is ready to be a drift car lol :):) Very, very enjoyable!

The numbers are borderline irrelevant, especially when you consider that MAF/VE/fuel injector flow rate can move the load cell around. That said, the computer knows where it is because of the crank sensor. If you do global bumps a couple degrees at a time after a few flashes you'll begin to see light knock in certain spots, not blow your motor up knock. Trim it there and continue to add elsewhere to see what it wants.

The idea of paying other people to tune my car just feels wrong.

I really like your sentiment. I've just never made the time to roll up my sleeves and really get my head into it. I still intend to though. Not until after the metal palace in the woods has been constructed though.

We're waiting. It is a 5 minute process. Results please.

I'm distracted making bird-shart welds.

Hint, if you have a gas valve in the torch, make sure its on even if the cylinder valve is open. If it's not, the welds will look like trash and you won't be able to figure out out...

Yeah as mentioned, the stock ecm's auto set their timing home position. I think that's why you have to do crank relearns. A stock ecm is automatically calibrated from the cam sensor.

You can send the rain here. Canada is on fire and blowing their smoke my way. It's hazy, hot, and the crops look like crap.

Yeah autocross with a 550hp car is a bit of a tease. I can see why miatas do so well. I'd go a lot faster with some skill and 1/4 the horsepower than I would with any more power here.

I need to turn my knock sensors on again. They are off because the were seeing knock all the time even in places it shouldn't knock (55mph cruise 2000rpm).

I'm going to do what you suggest, get the knock sensors on, see if it sees knock, add 2 degrees, see if it knocks, repeat. If it's not knocking after 6 degrees I'm going to stop and say it's good for now and look at adding some at the track.

Disagree, light knock equals windowed block. Tuning by a knock sensor in boost is forbidden territory as far as I'm concerned.

It only tweaked one of my rods at 10psi....
Ok - ya got me 😂

Kidding aside, tuning cruise timing and anything out of boost is fine by a knock sensor. But as soon as the power goes up above where the factory knock sensor was designed for - you’re living life by happenstance.
