About 15 or so years ago when my only son was starting to drive he wanted a FATHER SON PROJECT for us. He remembered I’d told him of my old idea of doing a complete powerful make over on a Chevy CHEVETTE. Well like all F/S projects it turned into Father doing 950/0 of the work and 100 0/0 of the cost. After swapping in a 4.3 Chevy V-6 that’s built for atleast 300 hp a 5 sp, narrowed Camaro posi 373 rear and back half and channeled for a full frame. My son, who WAS my mechanic moved to Tx for a good paying career in 2010. I did alot of custom body work over the next few years but didn’t have any idea on what needed done mechanically. My son said he’d take it down to Tx the next time he drove up with his pick up. I rented a one way U-Haul trailer and he towed it home with the repeated promise that HE’D DRIVE IT BACK HOME. Well 6 years later he’s done NOTHING TO THE CAR. Now he’s transferring back to Pgh ( home) and I’ve got to pay to have it shipped to me. KIDS???. There’s a brand new Painless wiring harness in the car that needs installed. The hydraulic clutch and the brakes need gone over. After he had it for a year I got board and bought my Elco 300 project since he promised he’d drive the Chevette home. The pic is the day he took it to Tx

Looked this morning on uhaul and just arbitrarily guessing, Dallas TX to Pittsburgh PA, for a 10ft uhaul, and a tow dolly, is $1100 based on August 4th. Mileage included.

Might be the cheapest way to get it home...

I’ve lined up a U-Ship pick up and delivery for just over $1,000.00 with insurance. Getting picked up Saturday. My sons bringing to many vehicles home to be able to tow mine. GO FIGURE

My baby Vette LOL is headed home complete with my granddaughters personal artwork. Went with suggested U-Ship paying just over $1,100.00 with insurances. Left Dallas Saturday afternoon said to be here in Pgh Monday. Hopefully no problems arise enroute.

I’ve told him recently that he’s not the son I raised. You keep your promises, especially to family

Wonder how the little modded v-6 would sound with these type mufflers.
That sounds real good. I already have 22 inch long round MangnaFlow mufflers on it. Was told by exhaust people that the smaller the engine, longer mufflers would sound best. We’ll see. I had to make my own headers for it. NOBODY had anything even close to fitting. They come up instead of down and go down in front of the engine.
