Worth doing a quick compression check?
Compression is good. But pressure at cranking speed and and 7000rpm and 20psi seem to be something different.
I’ve never needed a catch can, but I do now. It tells me something. Perhaps i should quit listening and just run it. More testing tomorrow and I’ll go from there. I can’t believe it’s the turbo, but I have a new spare S475. Again more testing after I check compression hot tomorrow.

For the track only with my motor I would be fine with 10-30. I currently run 10-40 but will be going up to 20-50 until the cooler months. Extended highway time turns the oil to water with heat.
Odd fact, one of the highest heat creators in the engine is valve springs... especially stiffer solid roller valve springs. They contribute a TON to oil heat.

I've been sweating bullets over my trans and converter. I had the trans gone through, not unnecessarily, when I lifted the heads. Shift kit was installed along with a new pump and 'race' clutches for a TH400. I bought and installed a new Derale trans cooler setup that I was told would be better than my budget Hayden (Imperial brand 243012) from Advanced Auto. The Derale 13700 is a double row tube type with it's own fan ($150) from Jegs). The Hayden was listed at $65 from Advance but discount codes dropped it to $48 and it's a bar and plate style. The fan is a decent ebay unit for $30.
The Derale was keeping the trans at 185-195 all the time and it would not let me run the sloppy transbrake only once from a cold start up. Obviousy that was not going to cut it. But I thought there was an issue with the trans and I don't have time to get it out, rebuilt again and reinstalled by 2 weeks from today. So for the 1st time I hooked the trans cooler to the radiator and the remote cooler. Still sucked *ss - 180-190 all the time. I was thinking of adding the old cooler in and having 3, but I decided to try swapping the Hayden for the Derale for quicker testing. Immediately 25-30 cooler all the time - PHEW!!!!!
I haven't pulled a trailer yet and I was worried that this was going to be the end of my entire trailer plan, after a week and $450 of trailer building. I want to say that I don't think the Derale unit is so bad, but rather the plate and bar style is much better than a tube style. Derale makes a plate and bar style setup, but yikes it's a pile of money.
Anyone that wants a budget deal, then the Hayden is a great bargain. Even though it sells as an Imperial from Advanced Auto, when you open the box you'll find a Hayden made in the USA part. It's almost shocking , but it makes me feel good as well.
Thought it was worth mentioning.

I do, but I do t have anywhere to put it. I need to swap the front end to an ‘82 or anything without the enduro bumper.
What is that? Looks to be 20+ by 10 or so.
8"x22". It's ridiculous. It's 40k lbs. GVW. I couldn't get my transmission to get up to 160° until I put a thermostatic bypass valve in. Its waaaaay more than I need even with a 3700 rpm stall speed.

Only new part was the flange lol. Everything is used or left over cutoffs from previous builds.
Still loud but about 20 decibals quieter in the car when cruising.
It’s approx 20% reduction in exhaust flow from 4” to 2 2.5” pipes. I can see it getting yanked off when I want to make maximum go, but OMG is better driving the car. My kid convinced me cut them at an angle to match the body - it was good advice.
