Greetings Guys; Anyone seen that Ole' Brick? That new owner sure is unusual, buy a runnin' car & have it disassembled?? Anyway I’ve been out in the hobby shop cleanin’ up makin’ room for the “Bronze Brick’s” steerin’ wheel & shift knob. I just couldn’t let them parts go with the car. So what to do with a JPS Mono steerin wheel & my son’s Hurst shift knob? My good buddy does some wood work, but his dad who was a tool maker did wood work to precision tolerances after retiring. He had started two end tables before he passed. The tops just sat in his shop for years & warped. So my buddy made me a plaque from the tops & I mounted the wheel, knob, key & gifts from kid & parents. Used the shelf for some parts I’ve destroyed over the years. Ready for the next project, Ole' Bob.

That's not 'uncommon'. Lots of people upon acquiring a new car ('new' to them) will promptly take it apart to some level & tweak it to their vision. I've done it to almost every vehicle I've owned.
I would have done it to yours as well for sure.

Hi Guys; Ah the Monaro, ya it resides in the Hobby shop now days. It's enough work for a Late Middle Aged guy? Scoti, To many of us car guys it just don't make sense to spend money for a format (9C1) & then? When buyer could of purchased any (Solid) 2 door Malibu to do a personal gut job on. Nice rollers are available for 1/2 what he paid. Now it sets somewhere & not being driven or used or enjoyed?? That one of all the Malibu's built should of stayed a 9C1. Subjective of course & a bit bias. Ole' Bob.

We can agree on it being 'subjective'.

Gotta agree with Ole Bob. It was a tragic shame to cannibalize the Brick. It was a One of a Kind, a genuine Sui de Generis, I think the saying goes. Take a bow, Ole Bob, you deserve it! The fellow you sold the Brick to did not treat it with the respect it, and you, deserved. It's a shame.

He pulled the engine. You guys are acting like he cut the car into a million pieces.

Greetings Guys; Again I want to THANK the Mods of this site. You guys are the BEST! I've now met around 6 of the fellas from this site & made a new friend or more. And for us Ole' guys meeting new friends is a wonderful thing! We all have our own likes & may not agree on many things, But we all Like Outomobiles. Anyway I just wanted to up date ya all. The new owner didn't like the as he called it "Fan Fair" when he gave away the engine. Here & on the FB Malibu sites he received a less than positive response. Ok he then covered it up & put it away until he get tired of it setting or? So if we can encourage him to put it back together how ever he likes & use it Please do. So if ya get a chance on the forum or FB Malibu sites encourage him to Enjoy it. Ole' Bob.
Ps: I'm still (shame on me) tryin' to influence him, mentioning the NASCAR engines that will become available this winter!

Here’s to new acquaintances and friends.

I’ll savor this picture and encounter. It was truly refreshing. And anything I can do to help out the 9C1 that used to be Ole Bob’s.
