I thought I should post the best pictures taken of my car on my my thread. So here they are. I documented alot of the trials and tribulations of HRDW'21 on another thread here and on FB. I wouldn't trade any of it for the week with my son and the fun we had together, and stress we had together both during and leading up to the week. FWIW, I'd do it again next week with him and hope to be a regular at DW and really hope he can participate with me.

As far as the rest of it, I have at least 5 upgrades to get working on : door swings outs (ordered), D1 transbrake (not ordered), fabricated core support and front crossmember, reworking of the factory air ducting in front of the rad & CAC, rehash of the factory dash with a Holley dash. And 6th, if I can pull it off, forward bars into the engine compartment. I've been pricing all of this and it seems to be about another $3k out of my pocket. I know in the DW crowd this is a minor expenditure, but anyone that knows me knows that this cheap SOB will take all winter to drop that much Do Re Mi. This will push my total expenditure in this turdbomb to around $12K.

I ask everyone to NOT TELL MY WIFE ;) But....I'm sure these will get me into the mid or low 9's.

SO did it get into the 9's?
10.040. But I'm still going to get there this year lol. I'm lingering at the local tracks.

This was the most disappointing part of the week. Because I didn't tech to 10.0 I ran easy with a plan to run full tilt on Friday. Well I had a problem that I found after the 2nd pass and because of wreck fest I only got two passes in.

To give an idea of a fully prepped track vs a Friday nite test-n-tune track - the fastest I'd been was on 8 degrees of timing on the hit at 6 psi of boost. I made the last two hits at US131 on 14 degrees and 9.5 psi. I'm guessing that's another 150-200hp on the hit. If I'm guessing wrong (too high), then it's a minimum of 100 more than I've done previously. And I never spun - AT ALL.

And all on the top end. Weak *ss 60'.

Congratulations!
And I just found the converter slip is another 3% since the last two DW runs - so what does that tell you lol. Also, I can now stall it another 300 rpm's higher (oops).

Weak *ss 60', 16% converter slip and left front tire almost a foot in the air. I've mentioned it previously, but I intend to have a full winter of upgrades - ARB, drop the rear ride height by 1.5-2", trans brake, upgraded converter and turbo that makes more than heat past 20-21psi. I can't believe that all of that isn't worth at least .4. I believe the ARB and transbrake should get me into a high1.3 or low 1.4 60', so that should equate into double at the stripe.

The only issue is I like the math for adding, or subtracting, from my time slip, but I'm not a big fan of the math that will subtract from my wallet lol. And my tires officially have no tread in the center 6" so I might as well add in a set of those as well lol.

That's an accomplishment. I'd love to see that log!

13 days until I return to Freedom to carry on with the Cutlass. Thank God it's in the low 20s F at night at home. I'll have nothing else to do.

So I made one more run after this one before I had to head home. I launched at another 3 psi and took out all of the launch retard. I was really looking for a 9.8.

It took me another 1.5-2 seconds to get the boost to 12-13psi on the hit so the guy next me left a couple of seconds before me. I get to the 1/8th and I'm running him down in a hurry (he ran a middle 12), when I see parts come out from under his car, then a bunch of smoke. It took me a split second to move from 'WTF' to 'holy sheetz he's going to be in my lane in a moment.' I ran a 10.1 at 136 lifting and panicking for the last 500 feet.

95% of every run I've made I've I always let the other guy go so that I don't have a chance of scattering my junkyard stuff and taking out someone else. For the 1st time I felt the opposite way - I need to get out on these guys that are slower so that don't take me out. I got back to the pits and stopped directly behind the guy and told him what I saw. I walked down to see what was what after I parked and he seemed to have an attitude that nothing went wrong with Duster/Mopar scrap. It reaffirmed that I need to get away from those types on the hit if I can.

A friend of mine was at the track and asked after the run what I did at the big end of the track because I wiggled the car and acted pretty stupid - I claimed I panicked.

9's is a win! I bet there is a few tenths hiding in suspension and fine tuning. Took a little time but mostly perseverance.

I was ready to put my car away for the year but you may have motivated me to get the car out one last time :)

This was from yesterday (was sent to me from someone on FB). Compare the rear tire to body clearance between this picture and the one in post 391.

My goal with the rear height is to have both side look this photo once the ARB, anti roll bar, get installed when I launch.
