At least it's only a cookie cutter gn, they made 10s of thousands of them all nearly identical. Had it been a more rare car, like a limited t or 2+2, something where not many are around, that'd be a worse tragedy.

I used to work claims for a national auto repair chain. I had to handle fleet claims for over 1100 stores. You won't believe half of the stuff I've seen, and I just handled the fleet business customers. But legal would ask for help sometimes on "Joe customer" claims.

When I worked for Costco the guys in the tire shop had an Rolls Royce come in, for Kirkland Signature tires of all things. One of the guys wanted to take a peek under the hood and somehow closed it on something, damaging the strut and bending the hood.

Looks to me like somebody defeated the arm swing locks. They're supposed to lock in place once off the ground to prevent this.

Way back in my young days, i worked with a guy that would lift only one side with an in-ground hydraulic lift (despite company policy specifically prohibiting same). Bad for the cylinder seals, worse if I hadn't caught him before the other side went through a door..missed by about 3/4".

Lifting up to 6tons 6ft in the air at work is serious shitt. Gotta make sure all lifting points are solid. Anxiety is strong when I see one point that may have shifted and I have to slowly let the vehicle down to adjust.
