Did the rocker/valve adjustments a few months back after incorrectly setting the timing. I have the timing correct now, and believe I need to readjust the valves according to the new timing set...

How do I adjust the rocker valves correctly ?

I've seen two ways to do it:

1. With the engine running.

2. With the engine off.

Which is the most accurate way and how do I do it correctly ?

Rocker arm adjustment and ignition timing are unrelated. If the rockers were done right the last time, then they are done.

^^^ Is correct! But if you are still wanting to perform a valve adjustment I have used the method in this video many times and never had any problems.

I have timing, all of it, set correctly... 12° Initial, 36° total.

Yea I followed that method too, and also these instructions with it...

After a month of all of that and other things, I finally have the car running as it should, but I have this loud ticking or faint knocking sound from what seems like the passenger side rocker arms...

I tried to adjust just the passenger side only with the engine running but that doesn't fix it either... Doesn't tick if I loosen one up too much to know when to tighten it down until the ticking stops... I just tightened them down until the engine starts stalling and then back out until it runs smoothly again, making sure the springs were being compressed...

Going to do an oil change today as well to see if that fixes it...

The lifters that won't tick when you loosen them have a missing or damaged lock ring.

Takes me several swings to loosen it and make the rocker stop compressing the valve spring, as if I loosen the rocker arm off of the valve spring, giving the rocker arm no contact to the valve spring to compress it.
