Little weekend recap!

Thats all folks! Also how come nobody comments on here? Feel like im talking to myself haha
You've lost me a little. GT55 with no intercooler - are running methanol or E85?

The pic you posted of the radiator installed is a little scary. You need to get all of the heat away from the turbo inlet. But the radiator you showed appeared to be able to be relocated.

You're not looking for 800-900hp with the GT55 are you?

I've been following, but.......busy and I've not been following close enough. I'm very interested where this ends up. The GT55 is......................turbo p*rn lol.

Because Mustang on a G body forum would be my guess…..
😅
Regardless, nice work!
Mustangs need love too! and my particular swap makes the ford forums angry.

Its first thing in the morning man. Let me have my coffee!

I, for one, enjoy the suicide machine progress...
My fiance says the same thing about it.

Love the build! Lot's of quality work going on here
Appreciate it!

Its got a Shearer 2k HP air to water on it, but the car will be on E85 next year and probably switching over to meth.

So the picture with the radiator was with it just loosely sitting in the engine bay. It still can go over another 3" just about, plenty clear of the intake for the turbo. This car will have a rear mounted radiator under the trunk, i just wanted to make sure i have enough room just in case i need to add another radiator in series later on.

Im looking for 800-900 on a soft tune lol, this turbo should put me well in to the 13xx-14xx range with the forged motor.

That car is going to be on the back-burner until i get time to either put a 25.3 cage in it or make it a coyote/Whipple street car lol.

Monte Carlo will be next on the chopping block to be finished first.

But are they ever REALLY done?

One nice thing about having a plethora of projects is they you don't get as easily burned out.

In my case I've actually got to get them all in one place... even the same state would be an improvement I guess. It'll take a 50x100 building though so... maybe next year if I get good news in December.

As far as your projects and the comment frequency... well... part is as noted, you're building sn95s on a gbody board. Another part is that, amongst us mustang owners here, I've noticed it's mostly s197s with a few s550s, and then a smattering of early pre1972 stuff. Mine are a pair of 2014s and pair of 2016s.

So, you're gonna get lots of admirers appreciating the craftsmanship, but not as many who have a similar car to discuss.

I'm looking forward to your progress with this. A GT55 is a giant turbo and trying to keep it in the 800hp range is going to be difficult, or I should say it would be for me. That thing is going to gain 50+hp/lb of boost. But it's going to take a stick of dynamite to light it off, and then try to hold it to 10psi - it will be challenging.

Regarding the forged motor for 1300hp - that's a head shaker for me. My opinion - go full baller with an aftermarket block, or go full sloppy and have the next candidate sitting in the garage.

Keep up the work and updates!!! ;)

Oh this motor is only temporary!! I plan to put a deposit down and get a place in line for a Mike Lough motor next year after our bonuses come in.

Regarding the other info, you'd be surprised how quickly you can spool these turbos with a good tuner, proper cam choice (not an off the shelf in most cases), and converter. I just ordered my Hughes Powerglide this morning, it will have dump valves that will also shorten coming up on boost. Talking to John Bewley and James Short ~ two pretty knowledgeable guys in the LS world they seem to think that i will be fairly stable in the boost range around 10-12 psi on a soft tune with the wastegates i have. Normally on a undivided turbo a 60mm wastegate would be fine, im running twin 45s which moves more air than a single 60mm. Same thing goes for the reasons behind going to dual BOV's. Trying to fail safe myself in case something goes haywire lol.

Now that the turbo kit is done, im going to start working on the rear mount radiator in the car and getting it placed, somehow mock up the interior panels which will be notched for the cage, and then start plumbing everything. Im going to save wiring the car for last.

I understand. I was attempting to indicate that it will take a knowledgeable guy to get this to light off. Also, I understand that this is not much of a street driver.

I probably should have rephrased my 'stick of dynamite' reference. It can be substituted with a 'good tuner' (which I'm not lol). I know what it has taken me to get an S480 with a 2800 stall to build boost with 414 cubes and mild cam, and my 4.8/5.3 with an S475, mild cam and 3600 stall. It can be challenging until you figure out how to get it working.
I'll guess your dump valve will be a tremendous benefit for aiding in building boost when launching.
