Man, this 1983 Hurst Olds is a nice ride. With an Olds 350 (EFI) and a solid rust free body. It sold for $20k which is a good deal.

Nice car, gorgeous paint. Is he serious about that fire starter air cleaner? I wonder if the stock dual snorkel air cleaner, factory carb, HO 307 and factory wheels came with the car? I would find a dual snorkel air cleaner at minimum, those wheels look really nice. I personally see the Fi Tech or Sniper as questionable value added, maybe even a deterrent. Nice car, maybe a touch high but it is a rust free H/O. Nice video.

Yes, the original 307 and factory wheels came with the sale.
I agree about the air cleaner, that air cleaner has to go.
I am all for EFI, the Sniper is not my favorite EFI but it is decent. I prefer the Holley Dominator or Terminator systems.

That is a fair deal then for such a nice car. I assume he was showcasing the EFI with that tiny, terrible air cleaner. The factory dual snorkel air cleaner would fit with the Performer used. I wonder what parts and power that 350 made? I wonder if the trans is bone stock? The wideband is the issue on the Sniper, extremely slow and inaccurate. Mark Remmel(Cutlassefi), has done a few, he just did two of them on his new dyno. He talked to the Holley reps about this issue at PRI. They told him what do you expect for $1000? If anyone uses one, I would have a second proven wideband to see where your motor is actually running. I had high hopes for these cheap EFI. FI Tech seem to be junk and Holley also has issues besides the wideband. I think the better Holley controllers would be an upgrade on such a nice car. I guess most just slap on carbs out of box and never put a wideband on them, so they are an upgrade.

Nice car. It appears to be well-kept and I like the stock interior. Drawbacks for me or the rims and interior color. A proper Hurst Olds should have the factory wheels in my opinion. Nothing else looks right. The 1983 sand gray interior is so much nicer. The engine bay looks nice but I wonder if it can keep up with a Camry. Years ago had that combo and was not impressed. Good enough for a cruiser I suppose if you can prevent the leaks. 😮

Yeah, the Grey is rarer and nicer. Do you know what was done to the motor?

In the ad it stated:

"The factory 307ci engine was replaced with a 350ci V8 reportedly from a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass and fitted with an Edelbrock intake with Holley Sniper fuel injection, ceramic-coated headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust system. Internal engine modifications are said to include flat top pistons, roller rockers, ARP hardware, and a competition camshaft. The factory engine, air cleaner, and fan shroud are included in the sale."

That would run nice with the factory high stall and 3.73 gears.
