Schweet, g'luck. Onea my seasons I was down on my luck($$) and it only went off because I happened upon a set of practically new radial slicks in the spring for 30 bux.

Like them wheels. Dude at the swap meet had em for 40, said he made a few passes and dudn't like em(radial SLICKS). Holes were deep, backing his story. Had 33 on me and offered it to im. He countered with 30😜.

They were 29x9's. Hadda do a little heavy tool fender clearancing😬

Here's a pic clearly showing the stripe taker under the nose. Gotsta make sure what the rules are in your class as to if allowed and height and distance from wheel centerline

It was a 25.8" MT ET Street Bias ply with an open rear, 2.1 60 ft. The 204/214 cam was two small, I think very low 9's were in it. Either way, the 88 CSC is gone. The new 400ish hp/tq Olds 350 going in the lighter 70S should run much faster even with a 3.08 posi. This car will be a long distance cruiser that will eventually see the track.
How did you like that cam? I have one in a box, and some Vortec heads that I am thinking about using

Too mild for anything much over 9 to 1, I was at 9.6 to 1 with .065" quench. I had to retard part throttle timing and use very cold -8 NGK plugs. If you are going with good flowing Vortec heads, they will tolerate and need less timing but I would go would go with more duration to take advantage of the heads. With a better cam, I could have ran well into the 8's in the 1/8.

I had Vortec heads with the GM "hot cam" (lukewarm) which is 218-228 on a 112 with 9.1 compression. Werked good but was not optimal for the sitchyation. Was all done by 5000. Ran 7.6xx inna 1/8
