This Monte is listed as an 88' on FM, what is your guess for the actual year of this Monte and why, I am going with 85'

I guess '84 because of the rear air dam.

Basing this on that '85 had the flatter, more aerodynamic air dam, and when I was given my SS ('84) it had the same air dam as is in the above picture.

I believe the "stand up" rear spoiler (pictured) was on until 86' then the "lay down" version was 87-88 with the rear tail lights, bumper change.

85 had a one year only interior upholstery pattern, If the interior fabric is original. Which by the faded top of the back seat leads me to believe it is

A Monte SS didn't have the squared of rear bumper and those tail lights in 88. So it's definitely pre-87

Message the owner and get a vin. Then you will know. Too many variables with only one pic.

Looks like factory wiring poking up for a 3rd brake light through the package tray. Factory t-tops, could be 85-88, doors often swapped due to rust. Will guess 86’ due to the brake light and rear bumper/tails (would be odd for a 87-88 to be converted to the earlier style) but yea, who knows with so many variables and almost nothing looks original on this one.

I saw wiring for the third brake light but I didn't see the defrost grid dedicated to it hard to tell though that's why I said 85 I added a third brake light to my 83 so the wiring is not that hard to do

I did message the seller but no response the only partial interior picture showed a painted dash insert and the aftermarket upper door panel with the big SS molded in

Another thing, is it a real SS or a converted base car? Might be like my car, a "multi-year" '81 Monte with everything I've replaced or changed.
