Since my malibu has the 700R4 trans, whomever that installed it, they didnt bother with retro fitting a GM OEM style tube and dipstick for whatever reason.

I have to contend with the installed LOKAR braided hose like tube and dipstick, which works as intended, but all i can do, with the help of the added expence of an adapter tube to be able to pour trans fluid into the trans.

Unfortunately, the diameter of the braided hose is too small, so im not able to remove the fluid with the help of a hand held pump with its associated fluid transfer tubing for easier filter changes all because the stock pan has no drain plug, what a mess this can be.

So i thought long and hard on how to remedy my unique situation, i didnt want to get any of the many aftermarket steel pans that has the drain plug installed on the bottom of the pan, thats bad newsy if your car is low to begin with and you scrape the bottom of the pan on something and bad luck ensues, there goes the plug, and i didnt want the aluminum type, figure hit something hard enough, instant hole appears and there goes the trans heading south of the border taking a permanant vacation.

I decided on not modifying the original pan, so i went with...

Pan - AC DELCO 8667545 : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013FU0CY/?tag=gbody-20

SS bung and plug : https://www.ebay.com/itm/4028219323...d=link&campid=5335822911&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

The location of the bung and plug(10mm hex) is in the perfect spot because of the angle of the original trans cross member, the passenger side goes away from the pan versus the drivers side, local speed shop did the tig welding, so far so good.

I run deep cast aluminum pans on both my Gbody's , both my cars are lowered and the Monte more so but both pans are even with the front crossmember so hitting something is a non issue plus you get added capacity and better heat dissipation.
They also used to have bolt in drain plugs that didn't require welding but I like what you did better and probably the total cost wasn't too bad either.

Figure for this one shot deal... i was charged $50 out the door for the tig welding job, i payed $5 more for the pan ordering it from a local auto parts store than what amazon currently shows, comes to about the same after taxes and shipping anyways, but got it next day instead of waiting, the ebay bung/plug plus tax and free shipping, roughly $90 total when all is said and done, sure it costed more than a prefabbed one, but i wanted this done my way.
