Doing one in the Blazer got me to thinking of putting one in the Monte, I searched and saw some people talk about it in a few different threads. But really only saw one person post a pic, it was in a wagon and looked pretty good. Was the same one I was thinking of trying, anyone else go with something different before I dive down this wormhole?

Back in the 90s I worked for Prince Corporation, the company that made the S10 overhead consoles. One of the guys in our product development department had a nice 442 and put one in his car. It looked really good.

Yeah I thought it would be pretty decent looking, I know for the Blazer guys talked about epoxying wood to screw to instead of welding something in. I'll have to think about all that

What I learned when trying to find what I wanted for the Blazer is that there is a bunch of different options with the one like I posted. They put something very similar in a lot of the trucks/SUV's. For the Blazer I wanted the one that had the dome light in the spot for it which was much harder to find, but there is a lot of the other to get. For reference this is what I got for the Blazer, much rarer and more expensive from what I have seen

Good to know. I guess looking into what versions & options there were to find the right one. Guessing it's out of a 2nd gen S truck.

I have this exact same console in my 84 Regal. It fits perfect, in fact it looks like it came that way. I put LED bulbs in there and i like it a lot.
