I live in in Massachusetts and nothing has changed when comes to emissions or coming down hard on it. If your vehicle is 15 years or older they don't check for emissions just safety.
In this wonderful liberal state of Oregon. Your vehicle 1975 and newer must pass standards to license. Now this is mainly Portland and not all the state but that is ridiculous

Was reading they where changing and adding camera’s and busting any changes made by dropping suspensions, emissions.

It's an interesting question for the future.

Federal emissions laws say no changes. States can aid with enforcement, or, choose not to cooperate vis-a-vis the attorneys general choosing not to exercise any rights to prosecute delegated to their discretion.

Now, if/when states in the blue belt elect to tamp down and discontinue exemptions in the interest of spurring ev adoption? If they change the exemption to a stricter class of antique plate with harsh operating limitations for emissions exemption claiming vehicles? (RI already does this, in reverse, by allowing antique plates to carry no restrictions if you voluntarily pass emissions, but, no penalty if you fail/decline to test.)

Maybe this stuff becomes more valuable at that point. Maybe they reproduce components. Who knows

It also was damaged in removal. Some of the parts were mangled off. I didn't really look at it though because I assumed nobody would want it, nor would I get some sort of strange lecture for throwing it out.

There's a bunch of pumps on eBay. Not sure about complete systems.

Why do you need it? Has Ontario embraced authoritarianism and demands outdated and useless emissions equipment on old vehicles? Or are you doing a restoration?

Edit, my car has the Olds 307, so the rest of it doesn't fit anyway.

The entire G body platform is outdated and useless following your logic. Sadly there are people who view all old cars that way.

Since the 70's every engine option has a government certified low emission package to be road legal. The government tests to certify engines are quite expensive and beyond the price range of most hotrodders. For example to test the EVAP system the car most be locked in a air tight test chamber for 2 weeks. So instead of that they just mandate everying with the emissions systems be stock and untampered with or using approved performance parts that were submited for testing. They are not just going to take your word that your modified drivetrain still burns clean.

I'll add 'or an exemption' to the certified package. While what flew changed over time, it led to interesting stuff over time, mostly in trucks, beginning with the gm heavy half pickup trucks to the use of the super duty 250 frame as the basis in the excursion (or, the older 2500 suburban/yukon)

They added the camera's about five years ago. Purpose of the camera's is to prevent the fraud that was going on, Lick and Stick sticker was an underground name used if you had a car that wouldn't pass safety and a handful of shops would pass your car with out doing a safety check we all know a guy. Those shops where making bank giving out those stickers until the State found out. A sticker in Mass cost $35.00, shop keeps $23.00 and the State keeps $12.00.
You can still lower your car 2 inches from factor height, I even seen them lower than that with no problems. Emissions no problems that I know about as long you put back your Factor tune before you get your sticker.

Had a shop in west springfield pass an 87 cutlass, without a horn, rotted bumper covered with bumper stickers, frame bent in 3 places(bumper didn't even sit right), and 3 different sized wheels/tires on it. 2 15x7 matched, 1 14x7 and a 14x6, different size sidewalls. Check engine light on due to map and egr. Would've been in.... 2001 or so.

I have seen a lot of cars and trucks like what you just describe on the road that shouldn't be. I have no problem with the State cracking down on safety checks. Word on the street for the last seven years the State of Massachusetts wants to crack down on cars or trucks that have been totaled then repaired then sold.
