About to start the interior on a 41 Chevy. What is the best budget sound deadening material you have used? If there is something adhesive backed for the roof above the headliner that would be great. Just looking for the most cost effective way to do this. It will all get covered so looks do not matter much.
dynamat is the most well-known. I know of some people who have used a similar roofing material from Lowe's but the big complain there is the stink, which takes awhile to go away
probably more for insulation since it has foam thicknesses from 5mm-10mm-15mm-30mm. I'm wondering how well the foam would hold up to the elements since they wouldn't be hidden behind any panels like in an RV
check ebay for the knock off fatmat,I did it years ago and it was cost effective.steer clear of the ice&h20 shield as mentioned it's not the same thing😏
I have kilmat on mine. Very affordable on Amazon doesn’t smell what so ever even out the box. I even put some on the roof and it still stuck up there after over a year. I plan to order some more when I replace the vinyl mat with a carpet on the 2500.
They also have another foam mat that you lay over the regular stuff. I wanna get some of that for the cutlass it’s helps cut down on the noise from the plastics rattling on the body.
Can’t remember the name of the brand but think it’s the same as DSPBuilt. Kilmat ran about $70. Haven’t used it yet. Not far enough along. Close but soon.
I just purchased "Mat66" off Amazon to go under my new carpet. $58.99. 36 sq. ft. 80 ml thick. There a few options like this one on there. Kilmat was one of those options. I also got the roller as well. 73 and change all together and it's already sitting in my living room. (not smelling it up)
