I am getting ready to drop a spicy 454 into my 1985 El Camino, what's a reasonable choice for a good fitting oil pan? Running solid motor mounts, smaller headers, 700R, stock suspension. Thanks for any advice.

I have run both Moroso and Milidon 7 quart low profile pans with kickouts on both sides with no issues.
I run solid Moroso mounts and use an oil filter relocation kit because of my headers and it fits a mini starter no problem,
This is the Milidon pan below and it sits level with the front crossmember.

thanks everybody for the input.

I forgot to mention I am running a deep pump pickup, and my old pan was about 9 inches deep. Will this cause a problem on the G-Body? Or should I swap out the HV pump and go with a more stockish pump setup.

wow, that's a serious machine. I am running a deep pump pickup, would a deep pan work OK? looks like about 9 inches of depth needed. thanks

The pans I use are 8.5" deep which is flush with the front crossmember while a 9" deep pan will fit it will be more exposed to possible damage especially on a lowered car like my Monte, unless your sump is welded on you can swap it out for the correct one for whatever pan you chose.
I don't run stock oil pans, I like having the added capacity and baffling that aftermarket pans provide.

Thanks again for the info. Yes, it looks like my deep pump pickup is bolted to the Melling HV oil pump, so perhaps I could get a shorter one and run a 8.5 inch deep pan, those pans seem plentiful. Good idea, I will try it.

I am also considering solid motor mounts to avoid header issues, but the ones I see are mismatched. The engine mount is wider than the frame mount, as much as 1/2 inch. The photo shows the different dimensions of the two parts. Should they match better?

I bought my engine mounts based on Dan Lemons recommendation for his headers.
Moroso frame mounts #62630 for the front motor mounts with Moroso #62515 engine mounts
