LOL.....I've noticed, if anything.... a handful (not all) of the purists are the ones that are thin skinned.....ls swap guys like myself have gotten our start with traditional olds/sbc power....we respect them and are grateful for the opportunity to cut our teeth on them. Contrast that with those that are biased against what they have no experience with........the fear of the unknown translates to lashing out against those that have chosen the non-traditional path.
Exactly, we have two in this thread that have not one clue how to turn a wrench on one nor what it takes to install one and what is involved, but that head running like it does.

I just read the part about how a 40yr old car with no ABS shouldn't get swapped with something more than 400hp.. I'm gonna go get my boots this sht is getting DEEEEEP in here... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

No one is advocating to surpress opposing opinions.....just don't make exaggerated, baseless claims like...... "you need to budget at least $10k for the swap"......or "a pullout ls cost a minimum of $2k". It gets tiring having to correct all that nonsense.

An LS pullout for just $2k is a unicorn in my area, I also got an oceanside property in AZ to sell you.

Not corrected, screamed at that I am wrong by providing rare anecdotal evidence of cheap LS engines and sloppy and reckless ad hoc installs that you guys are strangely proud of.
Not sure who is doing the screaming but it sure isn't me. I will, however, give actual first hand info based on actually performing the swap myself.

Really, why handicap the amazing LS by imprisoning it into an outdated grandma car that could barely take 400 hp on a good day let alone after 40 years of rust damage? You should be telling people to run away from old cars and buy factory LS equipped modern cars which make a far better starting point for performance than a 80's granny car that even lacks ABS. You guys really enjoy in engaging in doublethink.
Because.....aside from their drivetrain, I dislike everthing about modern cars......and I have a soft spot for the g-body. Are you OK if I formulate my own opinion here?

Got to put those boots on when knowledge goes over your head eh? Probably happens a lot for you. G bodies are well known to start getting body warp and twist damage around 400 hp. Its why GN guys have blown out rear windshields and twist off rear LCA mounts on hard launches. Even the original 110 hp V6 in my Regal cracked its roof. Surprise surprise that GM didn't build these cheap granny mobiles cars to withstand unlimited HP. But I guess that is too much for your mind to wrap around.

While I've never said either of those, I could believe that in certain parts of the country a pullout could cost that depending what you went with, and, that if you aren't inclined or don't have the space to rip apart a car in and pay to do the work, it could be accurate. If someone wanted to give proof of those costs I'd tell them have at it, from both directions.

Locally, pullout coyote 5.0s are pulling a premium right now for swaps because of low supply and high demand. If someone told me that where they are LS cores do the same (and I think I remember some west coast guys posting something to that effect, that guys bring in units from out of state?) Well, anyways, I'm all for free speech in every direction, and when someone asks why you feel it's the case, you just say so.

However, while *you* may not be advocating to suppress dissenting opinions, others in this thread have, and will continue to do so.

Ah yes, one piece of anecdotal evidence proves something is always true.

G bodies have far worse problems than drivetrains like weak noodle frames and horrible front suspensions. To make a G body modern fast requires a near total redesign from scratch.

I know, I should have consulted her advice when the first engine in was a 408ci LS Engine making about 625hp, Built T56 6spd behind it, had the non ABS Blazer Brakes too. Recipe for disaster.. 🤘
