Hey everyone! I'm in the beginning stages of my build, and am weighing lots of options. I've already talked to a few places, but I was wondering if you had any specific experience with any performance shops in the NJ/PA/NY area that deal with SBC carbed stuff. I know I need a shop to go through the motor (it's been sitting for some years now) and I'm also going to be putting new heads and cam in it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

p.s. I live in central NJ but would drive a good ways if the shop is worth it!

On top of that, there's a chance I'll need them to help wire the motor up (since I'm going to be removing the stock egr/computer/etc. and just going with an MSD distributor and holley 750 dp. (it's the same setup I had with the motor in my other car that got totaled, so I'm just taking my "new" stock 85 Monte back to that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You are probably going to have a hard time finding a shop willing to disable emissions as that is a huge legal no no for them. The govt goes after shops much more often than car owners.

Unless you have a really wild cam the CCC system can handle up to 500 hp, especially if you have an 87-88 ECM with a ZZ4 PROM which can handle bigger cams than the stock L69 PROM.

To everyone viewing this thread: this will be a racetrack-only car, so no worry about emissions for the street.
That truck was removed from being for sale, unregistered & went to be used as a pulling truck but the NJDEP still wanted everything for emissiions restored to original. Unless something changes it'll be either a metal cube or really flat sometime tomorrow.
