finally got this QP 9" installed. need info on brake cables

As some may know (because they have already helped me on this mission). I got around to doing the 9" rear end install today. yesterday i dropped in the center section with rtv and clamped it down. One thing i did notice and im not sure if its normal or not, the axle ends have a very small bit of play? maybe like 1/8 -1/4 play? if any one can chime in thats much appreciated. Also i ddi install this with the rear end big brake upgrade kit to run rear c7 zo6 calipers and the back plates come equipped for a parking brake cable. has anyone use that specific kit? want to get an idea on how to run this. this is the kit i have. https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/product...0-offset-torino-new-style-ends-3-150-bearing/

Sounds like you'll need the brake cables for a rear disc setup and integrate them into your car. I did that when I installed my LT1 Fbody rear disc brakes.

That's alot of end play, how are the axles held in? Flat plate holding in the pressed on sealed bearing?

Yes. I followed instructions and axles went in fairly smooth, of course I had to bang then In to seat the bearings. And locked them in with bearing plate.

Unless I missed something. I received the center section and just dropped it in. Put in the seals and slid through the axles. The center is a 3.70 posi

Shouldn't be that much play on the ends. I pressed the Bearings on mine, installed the seal in each end and bolted up the retaining plates. No movement.

Just to be clear. I’m talking about the rotation of the axle. I grab the hub, spin and have that amount of play. I’m and out there’s absolutely no play. It’s in there. Just in case that’s what you meant. I appreciate the fedback

If the play is from spinning. That is not a linear number like 1/4". Report that as degrees of rotation.
All will have some what we call backlash. A tiny bit comes from axle splines, some from the differential but mostly pinion to ring gear clearance. How much is acceptable is impossible to diagnose from here but some is necessary, it will never be tight.

Ahh, thought you meant in and out.

Yea that's perfectly normal, that's gear lash in the differential.
oh man. Lol I was like ‘this went too smooth , it never goes that smooth‘ thanks again!

My mistake. I have no way of calculating that degree. Aslong as that’s normal then I am good! . Just wanted to get some input . Thanks
