So, I am in the process of swapping in a new Tremec TKX from my Super T10 4 speed. I previously ran the G Force cross member. I was not entirely happy with it because it constantly made contact with my driver side floor no matter what I did.
I just got a Jeg's cross member and tried that yesterday and it is too narrow.....seems they cut the tubing too short on one side so that even if I opened the bolt holes up they would end up going out of the end of the bracket welded to the cross member.
So my next 2 choices are either the cross member from Silver Sport Transmissions which is pricey or the tubular one offered by Evolution Racecraft.
Does anyone have any experience with either of these?
Are there any other bolt on aftermarket choices for a small block Chevy A/G body?

Would this be a suitable application for the Ford/Lincoln/Merc X-member? It's about 3" too wide before the traditional mod of cutting the ends off...

Sorry nta...I noticed your using a ST-10 that I seem to recall is an inch longer than a T10/Muncie/Saginaw/200/250/350 due to that mid-plate added between the tailhousing and the trans main body. Just curious since the crossmember mount is on the tailhousing, the assumption is with the addition of the midplate places the crossmember an inch further back then the other transmissions mentioned.

I think it boils down to these cross members are aftermarket. I've had the G force's rub on frame off's.fresh bushing's and everything.

That's not correct. The Super T10 was the same length as the Saginaw I had in there previously. I'm swapping to a Tremec TKX which has the mount in about the same location as the 700r4.

Learn something new every day...seems like the crossmember mount didn't but attached says the overall length is 3/4" longer. That amount may be negligible since I was considering a TH-400 swap which supposedly is longer than a 200-4r but was told can be done without shortening the ds???
