Pretty bold of you to assume he has insurance.

Yup. Sure looks like you need an engine. Several lobes nearly gone. That cam bearing looks... not so good.
Safe to say there's only 46k miles on this recently rebuilt motor ?...Could I have possibly caused that much wear on the lifters and cam lobes in only less than 5k of driving this motor 46k rebuilt motor ?

I've read mixed reviews on cam bearing wear, some have ran worse and still running strong years after the fact. Another indication that the cam bearings are badly worn is low or no oil pressure...I've never had an issue with oil pressure, or never been advised that I do as many videos as I have uploaded and shared of me driving the car with the camera focused on my gauges, including the oil gauge.

i'm going to take my chances on the cam bearings and run them...but what do you see that makes them look bad ?... and are they bad enough that I shouldn't run them ?

You guys need to take in consideration the budget we're working with here.

A nice running engine cannot be afforded but a more expensive Cam and Lifter Kit with Timing Chain Set can.

Ponder over this before giving further advice.
That cost is the engine alone at a salvage yard where I live...not to mention the intake I would need to use my carb on a Vortec is another $300-400 plus gaskets...not to mention transportation costs of that engine because I or anyone I know owns a truck...not to mention I would need to buy an engine stand and an engine hoist to remove and replace both engines...not to mention I don't own a garage or private space to do an engine swap and keep these tools around...

$350 for the Comp Cams camshaft kit I posted, financially trumps doing an engine swap even having to buy gaskets...even tearing the motor apart with it in the car and replacing what I can is cheaper than an engine swap...in my situation.

All the support tools are needed when owning a shitbox. That's the law of cars.

Buy tools or upgrade out of having a shitbox. You'll find life gets easier.
