I am switching to buckets and console. I have seats, console and new mounts. My plan is to use the Lokar sport shifter with my 4l80e. I am painting the bottom side of body soon and would like to have all the welding done. Any advice or tips on mounting this particular shifter? (like a shifter plate ect.)

Subbed. I'm curious to see how the correct mounts bolt up. My car was a bucket conversion, but I think bench brackets were used and I'm not sure if the bench cars had the bucket fastener plates in the floor panel.

Could help guide where the stock mounts, are you using a stock console? Split bench cars have the mounts for buckets as they are the same as split bench, solid bench cars need them added. Any bench seat car needs the stock shifter/console mounts added, the mounts used and where placed are the same between all g-bodies. If using an aftermarket shifter though that might make those mounts, or at least one of them, irrelevant.

Yes, thanks sorry for delayed response. I am using the stock center console. I have mocked up buckets and no issues there. I don't have shifter yet, I know I should probably get the shifter to locate the location for bracket. I was trying to avoid another expense that won't be used short term.

I waited to mount my after market shifter until I had the seats mounted so I could be sure the shifter was exactly where I wanted it. I mounted it right to the floor with large washers to spread the load. It’s solid and secure.
Try that first before buying the shifter mount as you may not need it.
