i think maybe this site should have a section where people say what area they live in and other members that want to help would maybe meet at a shop where you can rent a lift for a day and help the individual out. the object is to help the G body community and get more of them back on the road. its just an idea with some flaws but what if it could work !
Tools break, people get hurt, cars get damaged.

You get one 'entitled' person who thinks they're owed something back afterwards and they can come after the site for encouraging the activity to occur.

There's nothing to say someone can't make a post in a general forum proposing what you ask for, but, I'd think it's a bad idea for the site to specifically encourage or help set it up.

only advice i can give someone is put your car on the road instantly and use it as you fix it no matter how it looks or runs !!

I would be more apt to do this if I didn't also have a Regal. I drive that around.

I'd love that. I have a limited skill set, but I'm pretty good with electrical stuff. At this point, I'd be willing to help whomever out for free, as you said, I just want more of them on the road. This Dodge stuff is driving me crazy lol.

I can’t wait for part two. Sorry to hear about your situation, especially since it’s other people who are not holding up to their word. Sad to say it happens often. I have experienced this before also so I feel for you. Honestly though you have a great foundation with what is done so far.

Thanks for that. I try to keep in mind that if paint is ever done, the rest of the car is easy to finish.

I agree with what others here have said. I know that this situation has you down, and I hope you're able to find someone reliable to get the car fixed up for you. For whatever its worth, if you're shopping for a hobby type vehicle, try to find something that has decent body and paint, even if you have to spend more in the beginning. Of all of the different aspects of fixing up and rejuvenating a vehicle, body and paint work are usually the most time consuming and most expensive things to do, and generally allow for the biggest risk of ending up in a situation like the one you're in now. For the most part (most of the time anyway), mechanical repairs, while not always cheap, can be done more quickly, as compared to body and paint, and the shorter time for mechanical repairs will keep you out in your car enjoying it. Like I said, I hope you can find a solution to your situation.
Thanks and I agree 100%. From now on, I don't even want a gbody that requires paint. I rather stick with the original paint (if possible) and do the rest.

I feel your pain, and seen too much if this.
Several of my customers went through similar. Local Doctor; 50k and stripped out 69, 440 charger. Local flooring guy 70 Mach 1, 38k still had stripped out car. Local resale shop owner; 57 Chevy with a 400 built by "experts" that couldn't drive around a block....

Fortunately you got your ride back. Did you get all the parts they removed?

That's how I am, last car I had painted it was re-designed by a telephone pole a few months later. I'll buy a nice looking car with small cosmetic flaws and drive the hell out of it.
