Hey guys, I have truck accessories I can use on my swap but I was just wondering what everybody uses and why? Clearance issues, frame, steering gear, hood, etc. I'm putting a 402 stroker in my 81 wagon.

F body or Corvette hands down. I'm running F body accessories with the ICT alternator bracket.

#1 question- what accessories do you want to run, AC, power steering, do you have to clear a low LS1 intake manifold, do you you have drive by wire or cable?
#2 question- how much do you want to spend and what do you have existing that you want to reuse. LS1 accessories on a truck block require additional hole to be drilled and tapped. If you have a tahoe 5.3 and want car accesories you need to get everything including the blancer.
#3 question- what are you looking for for looks, do you want something that is clean and stock that you can get a replacement PS pump or alternator from a parts store if you are 200 miles away from home, do you want billet, do you not care and want something low cost?

There are SO many options available, factory, aftermarket billet, aftermarket cast.

Car (LS1/2), GTO/G8, Pickup/SUV, Dirty Dingo, Holley, all make something that work. The only thing that doesn't work is corvette I think.

I have 01 3/4 ton pickup accessories that fit fine, and the engine sits up high enough that a truck pan cleared the crossmember. I run a small case lower amp output alternator off a base model 06 sierra and a little hood trimming (a GP hood is the worst for clearance anyways).

Truck accessory with ls1 f-body water pump (req. spacers) and holley g-body specific engine mounts. I have always been sensitive to function, and not aesthetics beyond a straight body (on women and cars). In other words, I don't see the "ugly" in the truck accessory bracket or the truck intake or what some of you might call a 2-bagger.

How far back is your engine set back? I've been thinking of switching to F-body style but keeping truck spacing. Mine is practically hitting the firewall. I feel like maybe able to clean the alt on the steering box since my truck PS pump clears with the big pulley.

ok I will be running AC so a passenger side high mount (R4) compressor will be used. I love the factory look and ease of parts chasing if something were to go wrong. I am looking at running truck acc with the 2010 camaro pump and the relocation bracket for the alt idler If the truck intake doesn't clear, If it does then I'm ahead of the game. The set up I have is DBW and want to run the factory harness.
