Perfect example of hard headedness: breaks 1 valve- goes 4 balls deep on a rebuild.

All budget builds start with good intentions....................................it lasts about 13 seconds

I just got a reply back from Howards Cams. They can make me a 0.380" lobe lift (0.653") and 265 @ 0.050" hydraulic roller. I think I'm going to order but stay back around 250-255. I am 0.608"/0.608" and 237/245 right now. A cadillac friend tells me it will affect driveability so little that I'll never regret it.

Sounds like a plan. I actually brought it up to Trimble today. He seems to think I'm still good with what I have. This is where not knowing enough sucks. I have to trust in people I think know what they're doing. Just sent him the cam card...

My Buick 455 was an 'overcammed' daily driver at over 250 degrees of duration. Like the Caddy (and Olds) the smaller high velocity intake ports and large cubic inches will tolerate a lot of camshaft.

I'm sure. I don't think I ever even saw what mine will really do. Ported heads with bigger valves made me think I might go more?

I agree. Especially with a 4-speed
