    Ratty Muscle Cars

That is pretty cool.....reminds me of my 69 buick wildcat I had in high school,, was rusty as hell, no paint whatsoever, the fender rotted off one day coming home....but damn was it awesome, and I loved that 455 rocket engine, I'd smoke everyone in that thing, and I think I bought a set of used...

    New here. 1987 442

Welcome. Im fairly new here too, few weeks...was in the army for 6 years, combat vet here. Yes, very nice ride. Mine isn't a 442 but I got the vin 9 307 v8 in it, came with the car when I bought it, the shop owner I bought it from dropped it in from a caddy he had in the yard that the frame...

    Goodbye

Been there. Sometimes you just end up with a car that seems like a lemon, and time and money invested can't outweigh the enjoyment and fun of owning it. Before my 88 diplomat pi, I bought an 86 which after a few months of weekend after weekend of fixing thus replacing that the frame finally...

Buying tires online vs a shop?

Yes buy online. I use tirerack.com myself, then take them to my long time Midas guy who charges me $15 per tire off the books for mount and balance.

    78-81 15" camaro z28 wheels

Just found these online, not sure of backspacing/offset, but does anyone know for sure if these are a direct fit for my 85 olds cutlass? Id love to replace my rallys with these. Thanks.

I'm always checking craigslist and rarely see these

Wow. I have to agree. That is def one of the ugliest wheel choices I've seen in a looooooooooong time....either the owner was high when he chose them, or a blind guy bought them as a gag gift. Or both. Or the blind guy was high. Lol

    Junkyard limited slip

Yes good info indeed. No, no winter in July lol...but I need to dump the open diff before winter and get a limited slip (posi) in. I live on a mile long, 7-15% graded 2 lane, and there will be no way in hell of getting back up with one wheel spinning wildly with even a good inch or two of snow...

BUILD THREAD 1987 Cutlass Salon T-Top Frankenstein build

Wow I love that slammed front ... makes me want to go cut mine to lower my front maybe 1 1/2-2". My drivers idea front spring just collapsed the other day, 32 years put some stress on it. Damn front end looks terrible now with that side sagging down 2 inches. Just got those same KYB Excel gs...

    3.08s to 3.55s

Gotcha lol. Little slow on my end here, not much sleep...but ok, thanks. I may look into a 3.73 or 3.88 even based on that info. Could go as high as 3.92s, but then if a highway trip is needed I'll be running out gas probably around 2200-2300 at 70mph with the 3.92. But hey. It's then again its...

    3.08s to 3.55s

Nope. I'll swap it out with an overdrive unit, the what, th200r4 is it? Then I'll upgrade that a bit

    3.08s to 3.55s

Typically it's 55, but there are quite a few 45s and 65s. Tire size is a 205/75/15, but after this winter I'll be changing out the trans with a th200r4 so I'll do the modulator with a new speed sensor gear so I can run 225/70/15s. My 307 olds is a torque monster stock, but I'll be boosting it up...
