What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Did the new shocks fix your issue? I did this twice in 3 months. It would work OK for a couple weeks then act up again. Mine cracked a ceramic wall tile the second time and that was it for me.

Any tips on a temporary fix floor pan rust hole

Yup, most important is to cut out the rot. Cut your patch and inch or so bigger than the rot you cut out. Self tappers to hold it in place while you trace. Lay down a bead of seam sealer on the body and line up your holes with your patch. My preference is pop-rivits ( they are alum and wont...

    Meanwhile, in Canada...

I am really curious about the truck conversion for my work truck . We run electric lifts instead of PTO and invertors for corded power on all the trucks to reduce run time as it is .

What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

I have tried 3x to get the cross shaft out of my broken 7.5 diff over the last week. The 5\16 cross shaft Pin broke, and as a result it ovaled up the diff case real bad. First attempt I took the death wheel to the case and put a slot in it where the pin "could" interfere. And it was...

What did you do at work today?

picked up our new \ used 09 truck n bucket yesterday. Today was my first day working it. California truck. 320 on the clock but man is it clean. I mean for a 13 year old truck I can see a little brown on the PS door seam but that is it. Looks like it was undercoated a couple times already in...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

set up another pressure washing rig for work today. Need to drop wifeys car this week to the body shop and grab her a rental. She got tagged good in the back bumper earlier in the week but body shop is backed up. I really like that Camry too. 4x 3" tek screws are holding it together good...

    MALIBU Pop goes the belt

Alignment issue would be my guess. I have chased this for years in the monte but I dont start tossing belts ( denting hoods, overheating, smoking AC compressors etc until north of 5500 rip m s ). The Serp belt conversion for the Alternator from an 86 Up Gbody Cutlass or S10 really helped. It...

What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2022]

I pulled my "defective" rear tires today and gave the rims a quick polish. Take them to the tire shop tomorrow for some new skin they have waiting for me. Tires keep losing tread every 2-3 years but just on the back for some reason.

Maybe a newish Camaro with the Bird front end swap ? Heck even the v6 one scoots pretty darn good. Once I hit 50 I realized Im not getting younger or more spry to work on stuff like I used to. They were $7 - $8g for the unpainted kit last time the boys and I were bench racing for the 2010 and...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

In an effort to "learn how to Volvo" Ive been wrenching on the kids car. Fixed the fuel line. PS pump whines less now that we have flushed it. Airbag light on that I can't seem to get cleared. He is saving his $$ for new tires and maybe he can get it rolling and insured by the end of summer...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

my kid bought his first car. 2.5 awd 5cyl turdbo volvo. Honestly I am happy he bought an " old man " car as his first vehicle. Its leaking at the rusted fuel filter. Plastic fuel lines and the underbody and body in general is actually really great for an 05 so for and old fella like me its...

... not where I thought that was going. Couldn't figure out the 36" pool vs a 40 gallon drum but each to their own... and the lack of yeast.... then the lightbulb turned on and we were talking about different things. :) Have you perhaps considered 12v electrolysis to remove the rust...

what are you doing to keep your ride from being stolen this summer

yeah a lock will only stop an honest thief. Typically I just pop the hood, pretend to check the oil and disconnect the 12v + to the coil or pull off the battery terminal. In the summer would leave the windows down and doors unlocked if I were to grab a burger or some ice cream. I dont keep...

    78 cutlass W-31 build

sometimes taking a deep breath and keeping a steady pace wins instead of pushing thru like a bull and making it work is the better course of action. Good luck with whatever path you choose. Will today be based on a path of violent perseverance or patience ? :) Or as my co-workers ask...
