    MALIBU Champion radiators...anybody used them?

I have a 3 row Champion in my 81 Lemans with a Pontiac 400. I use a smaller waterpump pulley for increased flow speed, HD fan clutch with 7 blade a/c fan and factory schroud. Idles all day in summer traffic with no problems

    Cars are never done

Nice GP, too bad for the deer. I can confirm what Bonnewagon says. You need the RamAir manifolds for a 68-72 GTO/Lemans. That's what I have in my Lemans with a 400 and they fit perfect. If you get the downpipes from RamAirRestaurations, they fit right also through my Jegs crossmember.

Deionized or Distilled water in a cooling system?

Most new cars now just specify clean tap water for their coolant mix. The most important thing I beleive is simply proper maintenance of the liquid, ie regular coolant should be replaced every 3 years and long life every 5 years. The problems I see are from coolant that's 10-12 years old still...

Car Lift Options for Home Use

I have an old school, 9k lbs, chicago built ALM 2 post lift in my home shop. You need 13 foot ceilings but I get to do whatever I want without worry. I bought mine used for 2k installed and it's a lot beafier built than any equivalent new 9k lift. My buddies k2500, 4x4, duramax extended cab...

    Rear Suspension Upgrades

For a in-expensive front sway bar upgrade, look for a 34 or 36 mm front bar from a third gen TransAm GTA. I will bolt right in using the TA bushings

    Musings/Ramblings/Opinions on the EV push

Here in Quebec we aare lucky to have cheap and relatively clean hydro electricity but like everywhere else, The existing power grid needs major improvements to sustain massive EV growth. Just last week when temperatures were holding at around -33/35c for several days, HydroQuebec was asking...

What did you do to your shop today?

I'm a little late to the shop party but here goes. Mine is 32X36 with heat and a/c. I just added a 12 ton press for all the pressy stuff and added a few more pictures/vintage adds on the wall. Lift wise it's a 9k lbs american made ALM 2 post. Picks up a 2500 diesel silverado without breaking...

BUILD THREAD Low low cost build

We don't care about the body other than it gets us the truck cheaper. The problem with the LS imo for a budget build is procuring all the stuff needed for the swap such as mounts, oilpan and such. the older vortek just bolts in place of the 305 and all accessories swap over. More low budget...

BUILD THREAD Low low cost build

I know ls swaps are popular but a decent lowcost alternative in my opinion would be a pre-ls 97-98 vortek 350/4l60 from a silverado or express van. Around here i see rusted to sh*t but still running ones for $1200/1500 on a fairly regular basis. Would be a easy swap for any 305 sbc and by...

Hey guys. If all goes well next year my Lemans goes to paint. One of the items I'm looking for is a NOS left taillamp bezel from a 78 GrandAm/GrandLemans. Part number is 5931311 or 5969619. I already have the right side. Thanks
