WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST GBODY ??? POST PICS . LET US KNOW

My fisrt G-Body was an 85 Grand National. My Uncle, who was a CPD Lieutenant, found out that one was on a police auction block. He fronted me a loan, and made the arrangements. Got it for $3,200 back in 90, with no backseat and a stripped column. I came out of a 7-11 and it was gone. I had it...

    hardtop rear window filler question?

Paul, iinorder to do the conversion right you need the following parts from a hardtop car. Trunk filler panel Quarter window rear window trim And the window drip rails have been mentioned more than once. I have not fully investigated this, but appearently the window drip rail streches from the...

smokes worse after engine is warm

I third the motion for head gasket. So you understand, the color of the smoke is the biggest tip off. Black / dark grey smoke - fuel mix is rich - carb adjustment or cleaning fixes this. Blue(ish) smoke - oil burning in the combustion chambers - valve seals / guides, rings etc.. White smoke -...

    Motor Opinions...

IMHO any Pontiac engine would be smokin. But aside from giving us some numbers, 350, 400, 455, you haven't put out any more information. Let everyone know what your goal is, and the folks here can help you get there. I just started my project after doing a bunch of reading, and I am no expert...

    old Poncho mounts?

Thanks for pointing me in that direction, they gave me the lowdown. I looked up photos, and the guy who is dropping in the engine for me thinks he can fab up a set one we get the mounts. Turns out I need a set of 301 mounts for a Gbody. I put up a post in the wanted section looking for a pair.

    old Poncho mounts?

Hi all, Sorry to be mia for so long but I suffered an injury to my shoulder during an altercation with an inmate at work and have been down since July 5th. I haven't made any progress on the car, but I did score a 69 Pontiac 350 Ho for it today for $100. I understand that to mount it into my...

new user looking for a gbody

Along with what has been already posted for the rust hunt, look at the bottom of the doors on the inside. Also look under the rear wheel well. You should be able to get a good look at the exposed frame there and watch for bubbles around and chrome body moulding. The long pieces along the bottom...

Need some advice from a body-man

I almost seems to me that the car took a hit from something on the taller side while the trunk was opened. I've never seen damage like this before. What looks like speration is the lower filler panel and the 1/4 extension being bent and not put on properly. Again, I'm not sure exactly how to...

Need some advice from a body-man

Thanks guys. Okay, to answer some of the questions. The frame is straight, and the trunk still closes. As for removing / cutting out the rear panel. I currently have an 85 GP that I drive everyday, but the lower half of the car is rusted to hell, trunk has a forearm sized hole in the pan etc. So...

Need some advice from a body-man

So here is the damage on the project car I bought. I can handle replacing the quarter extension, but have no idea what to do about the crinkled area by the trunk. Any idea, suggestions, or advice would be wonderful and very appreciated.

    PROS and CONS????

Agreed, there is a guy around town here running just pipes. The motor is a stock 305 and he thinks it sounds tough. He accelerates and he sounds like potatoes are shooting out of his assend.
