Eastwoods cad look paint doesnt look even close to the original plating. Ive seen people do it countless times at cruise nights. I would just spray it a nice semi gloss black and do the master in a cast color. Just my opinion though.
Theres a few companies out there that sell boosters that are...
You need to use SEM Color Coat. Thats the paint for plastic and vinyl products. As far as color code do you intend on trying an aerosol can or a custom match using a spray gun to apply it ? I would STRONGLY suggest using an adhesion promoter before you spray it on any of the material.
Theres always a few factors to consider before buying anything but one thing I'll add. The kit I have was a gift from my wife. She heard me talking about HVPL guns on the phone with a friend of mine. She saw me looking at the sets on the Eastwood website. Next thing I know theres the 2 gun set...
Im not sure if HF has changed the design of the purple gun but it really doesnt look like a Starting Line gun a all. I mean theyre all similar I guess but theyre quite different at the same time.
Never heard of an interior coating made by U Pol. I used their Raptor bed liner to recoat running boards. Sprayed them at a high pressure. They look pretty good.
As far a spray guns Eastwood sells the two gun set that Ive been using for $189. Its the basic Devilbiss set but Ive been using...
I wouldnt use the HF guns to spray interior parts. I would use a detail gun with a 1.0 tip. The detail gun sprays the color out much finer. Doesnt fill the patterns in the vinyl or plastic. I have a Devilbiss Starting Line set. A bit more money but a much better quality in my opinion. I used the...
Yup. Inline Tube does their ebay sales through this seller. Much cheaper than buying it directly from them. I have two of these. Bought them at the same time for my wagon and my coupe.
If you want a close to exact match send a piece of trim like an A pillar to a company called Vinyl Pro. SEM used to do custom color matching but once PPG took them over that stopped. They actually got rid of the woman that used to do it. She matched a few colors for me and she was amazing.
Last...
Jack, you should know that I also used SS lines when I did mine. I already went through it when I was doing the coupe. It wasnt fun. I think it would have been much easier if I had a lift. I also had the rears out of both cars when I did them. The fuel lines were almost as hard. Almost a waste...
I dont think you would need to use clear coat. SEM Color Coat has UV protection.
One thing I do remember from back in the day. My buddy used to go to the Spartanburg SC auto auction every couple of months. He use to bring back 73-77 Montes. It was a great idea. He would stock cases of pads and...
Ive sprayed a few tops over the years when I worked at my friends used car dealership. Cant remember what we used to clean them back in the day but now SEM makes their own line of cleaners and preps which Ive used quite a few times on my own stuff. The prep is always the most important thing to...
