Have to agree, but the issue seems to be that there are two wiring diagrams for different years, and the one posted is the default that shows up on the search...

Good point...May be enough electricity to light the test light, but not enough to operate the motor. I don't have a multimeter, (usually try to stay away from electrical problems...lol.) but I have access to one. Will try that route tomorrow afternoon.

I'm a member of that electrical moron's club lol. But, have the same attitude that my dad did, if someone built it, I ought to be able to take it apart and put it back together and make it work. Logic and automotive electrics don't nessesarily go hand and hand. Had not occurred to me to hook a...

Not sure where the help went... Everyone told me how helpful this forum was...Seems as though as soon as I questioned an answer the help dried up. Sorry, thought we were having an honest discussion and not disrespectful. Taking the car to an auto electric guy locally...Apparently I'm not smart...

If you're asking about mine, it's NY, but I'm a Pennsy boy at heart.

I used to get to Jersey occasionally...Co drove a VW bus from Williamsport, Pa. to Perthamboy(sp) for my first trip, after that was mostly Flemington Speedway. Probably shouldn't do this, but repeating the Carlin line: "...kiss her where it smells...Take her to New Jersey..." No offense, never...

Right now, no other mods, it's got 56000 original on the drivetrain, and has been a pretty reliable cruiser...But, I've had it about two years and am starting to think about possibilities...We will see. 305HO gets about 18 mpg if I don't get crazy...We've driven it four hours away for a show...

Just did a little further testing. The motors do not ground through their case. Attached a ground to the motor case and introduced power to each post one at a time...Nothing happened. Placed the motor on plastic, and used two wires (ground and hot) at the motor posts. Motor runs great, switch...

The may ground through their cases, but it's my understanding that the master switch is grounded because of the reverse polarity motors. Last year, H2O Gbodies posted:" That diagram is very misleading-apparently the only one that seems to pop up on Internet searches show the same one-it is...

Got lazy...No postable pictures readily available on my tablet, so took pictures of pictures on my laptop screen. Lighting not the greatest, but figured you'd get the general idea lol. Looks MUCH better in person. Thanks for the comment. Not sure how I ended up with four pics instead of three...

Uploaded pics and intro a few minutes ago lol...Appreciate the diagram... I have it. From another post, this is a diagram of an earlier version, it's pretty much right, but fails to show the sixth wire on the master that grounds the entire system, which is why I added a new ground...Thought...
