Monroe Shock ( _LINK_ ) I used these shocks but removed the spring off the shock body. To remove the spring compress it and remove the bottom retaining clip. Or if you want you can keep the spring and cut bottom 1.5" off.
I asked a shop here and they said that is was $500 for my Cutlass to do 2.5" Duals with X pipe. That doesn't include the exhaust headers I wanted to put on my Olds 350. So I would call your $400 quote that going rate these days
I have had great luck with these in my g-body. http://tinyurl.com/orelshocks
these are for the rear and will help with load balance and can make up for rear springs that are soft and let the rear of the car squat.
Good move keeping the A/C. I think that removing it would of made the car less enjoyable, but thats just this american's opinion. If I could afford a redo, I would reinstall my A/C.
I daily my G-body no matter what the temp,

I think that it would be a good combo. Lots of colors go good with gray. You need to pick 2 colors you want to be working with to make up the color scheme of your car.
I love the '72 350 I have in my Cutlass. I'm pretty sure its stock but it has plenty of power and more torque then I could hope for. Compared to the other GM engines we have had in the the family this rocket 350 has been a rock.
I didn't like my stock Q-jet so when the floats sunk I ditched it and grabbed a Edelbrock 1406 for my Rocket 350. I put that carb on in March of 2014 and havn't tuned or cleaned it. Just bolt and go havn't bothered even inspecting it for signs of trouble. I have been daily driving the car for...
Honestly I got into the GBody by accident. I needed a car and a family friend who flips cars had one for sale. $500 for a running car was nothing to leave behind for a guy who needed a daily driver. In my area (North West USA) These arn't too common. Me and one other guy had our GBodys Cutlass...
New Alternator in today. Got a 94amp unit since the my 63amp unit died this week. Small setback but hey, I have good votage and now the battery charges.
