What did you do to your G-Body today?

I ended up putting in a set of Dodge Cirrus fans in (cloud car fans). I had picked up a set of Intrepid fans from the U-Pull yard just for the purpose but found that the bearings were gone. I may get another set of Intrepid fans later, as they are a lot easier to wire in for slow speed but...

What did you do to your G-Body today?

Got my electric fans installed in the Bonneville today. Also took about 100 mile road trip into the city with the wife for some killer BBQ. The car did well and the BBQ did not disappoint.

BUILD THREAD You know she's a keeper when...

Me too, but suffice it to say that this is its final form for a while. I am getting a bit of garage burnout and I have other non-G projects that need to happen when my motivation returns. The car is in a nice running and driving condition now but other than runability tweaks, I think it is...

BUILD THREAD You know she's a keeper when...

A few pictures: Still need a fan shroud and an A/C compressor installed so I can get a custom A/C hose made. I am digging that serpentine drive setup though. That power steering pump pulley is awfully close to the steering box though. Unfortunately, you cannot get the belt through that...

TH200C - Where is the lockup switch?

For durability purposes, you maybe better off leaving the lock-up converter unplugged. If you mash the gas while the lock-up converter is engaged, the full power of the engine will go to the internals of the transmission. If the converter is unlocked, the torque converter will take some of the...

What did you do to your G-Body today?

Got my exhaust welded together (poorly) and took it out for a ride. It still leaks like a sieve, and my passenger side manifold needs a new donut gasket but I can drive it at least.

What did you do to your G-Body today?

Bought some turbo mufflers that I did not end up using and got half of my exhaust hooked up to the original exhaust system. I need to get a hole saw and an extension pipe to connect the other side. I won't say it will be show quality when it is done, but at least I can drive it.

    Fjord V10 Problems

Got ya. I had installed a homemade APU on my big truck to keep the batteries charged over winter, and that thing was just handy as hell. Good luck with it.

    Fjord V10 Problems

Does the bucket hydraulics run off the PTO or are they electric pump driven? If they are electric, an aux power unit could probably save you a ton of money. Hell, a 5 horse Briggs engine hooked to an alternator could maintain the batteries for a couple hundred bucks.

    Fjord V10 Problems

Sounds like the start up smoke is valve guide seals. Would do a leakdown check on the cooling system just to be on the safe side, though. I have to ask why you are idling that much, though? That is rough on most engines, and that V10 is awful thirsty under the best of conditions.
