I would be quick to point out as I do to many of my friends who try to get into cars; anyone can take something apart. An ape can do that. Putting the dash back together is what's hard. It's not hard to put back together, but to the constitutionally disorganized or sporadic mind, the wiring is more specifically what can be confusing if you don't have the pre-existing knowledge. The thing to be nervous about is if you get the dash open and see the wires are all separated or some are taped together to others / hardwired etc. Know which wires are which before undoing any wires at all, have stickers on hand, and most importantly study a wire diagram for a while before approaching the wiring, not after the dash is already apart. You can lose hours of time going nuts over 1 wire, but if you don't know which is which you can easily get lost and it be the last wire you check. If you get the dash off and the wiring hasn't been tampered with ever you can breathe a sigh of relief b/c that's easy; after owning 4 of these cars that has only been lucky to have been the case for me on 1 out of 4 cars. Almost every car this old had subs or multiple head units or a gps or w/e the case at some point. My 79mc had dell computer speakers wired all throughout the back and trunk when I got the back seat apart. Who would have thought?
