If you have the inclination, you should hunt down a copy of Black Air. I was able to watch the whole thing once, and the last third was about the GNX. These cars were truly mythic. As much as I'd like my GXP to be the next GNX, they just have not attained the same legendary status. The turbo 6 was unlike anything at the time, while the LS3 has become the go-to crate motor.

Thanks for keeping me on your short list. I have a lot of Driver's Ed to catch up on before I can handle a 12.4 quarter-mile.

Greetings Quinn & all; I haven't seen any info about this Black Air, I'll try & make time in the days ahead to take a look. I'm not much of a V-6 guy, don't care for the exhaust note. And the last thing I want to do is put boost on my rod bearings, because I know myself to well. Some boost would not be enough I would Have to have MOre & once you have boost more is easy. What's better than cubic inches, More cubic inches! So that being said "what's better than boost, MOre boost"! A man has to know his limitations, Laugh now please.
Last summer a buddy with a 1969 2 door post (very rare) SS Chevelle, L78 clone came by & put me behind the wheel. It runs low 12's High 11's & the steering components are old, lots of free play. I only speed shifted it NO power shifting & I had to lift because I couldn't steer it or keep it in the right lane. So few weeks later I took the Bronze Brick over to his place (the BFG DOT slicks were on at the time) and put him in the drivers seat. I mentioned that he should roll out to about 30 MPH (tires might-could-should maybe hook-up) and hammer it, DO Not touch shifter let the trans do the shifting (6500 RPM), just steer it. The tires did hook & we made a little over a hundred. He said "man is that easy to drive", it goes straight & does all the shifting for you @ 6500. The hardest part driving Brick is pushing your right foot down. Take care guys, Bob Jr.

Greetings Guys; Last week the Global West Lower front "A" arrived, they're still in the box as the car is getting the bumper covers re done. I'm very fortunate to have a neighbor that is the best glass man around. He has re contoured the transition from the fender to the fiberglass cover, they look like the were made for the car now. He had me pull off the pass mirror and sent it to the paint mixer, so at least the bumpers will match something on the car. Next up will get the new arms on & some rear tires (MT-DOT's) traction, the auto X at Car Craft Nat's is coming fast. Later Bob Jr.

Greetings Guys; Well the bumper covers look better, they match the right mirror perfectly. But not necessarily the trunk or the rear quarters. The fiberglass work is very nice & blend with the body lines much better. I'll post some pictures in the near future. So Now the car is on my buddies hoist for the new Global West lower front "A" arms and I'm going to clean the bottom & touch up the Ziebart. I hope I took the right path with these new arms as I wanted to finish the up grade that I started back in 2003 with the Global West upper arms, but these lowers are very heavy. I may be adding weight to the front of the car & I hate doing that. And I'm going to try and fix the gas gauge again (fourth time), I purchased a new sender that I hope to mount to the modified OE pick up. I'll be ordering new rear tires soon, the MT DOT drag radials in 255/60-15, I sure hope the clear as I have been on 245's for many years. It will be SOooo nice to have some traction. I'm looking froward to the Car Craft Nat's & that fast-long auto X.

Hmmm. The GXP is ready to roll. I might have to disappoint the Forum and drive the Zeta out your way. No promises. Have to apply for an extended Kitchen Pass...and then there's work....

Greetings Quinn & all; OK, that Holden should make it this far & back. I know it's a long shot but you have a choice of 3 events of fun in Wisconsin this summer. Power Tour start June 6th, Holden Meet June 21st & Car Craft Nat's July 17-19. For me it's now a long shot maybe for Power Tour start as my son is coming to town that week-end. Since I'm the instigator of the Holden Summer Solstice Meet, I'll be their come hell or high water. And my whole focus for this summer is running the Bronze Brick on the auto X at the Car Craft Nat's, you can bet I'll be their. Bob Jr.
Ps: Tomorrow will be warm enough to power wash the bottom of the Brick or start removing the OE lower "A" arms.
And for any guys thinking of buying it (Bronze Brick) the new arms cost $700 + alignment, new anti sway bar bushings & rear tires coming all for $1200 Plus dollars. So at $.50 cents on the dollar that will raise the asking price another $600 + dollars or (I haven't added it up yet) approximately $20,000+. Damn that's a lot of money, but them their's a lot of expensive parts hanging on this automobile. Thanks for look'in guys.

Greetings Guys; Just a little up date, the Brick is off the hoist. Power washed the bottom & touched up the Zeibart (undercoat) & got the new anti sway bar bushings on. The old (new in 98) bushings were in better shape than I realized, the grease & road grime made them appear more worn than they were. The new "A" arms are still in the box, as the job is just too tough for my ol'e small body, so I'm taking it to the front end shop (I know more $$$). As Power Tour is now out of the picture for the Brick, if I go I'll have to drive the GuTOo (life's tough but someone has to do it). But I still plan to be on the Auto X @ the Car Craft Nat's with the Bronze Brick. Bob Jr.
Ps: For you guys attending Power Tour, TLC out of Milton, WI. (Rip & Jerry) will be driving the black one of the two 4 speed Malibu's my buddy use to own. They fixed the rear quarter, swapped in an 8.5" third member & will be doing the first few days.

Greetings Guys; Well plans are always subject to change. I did make the first day of Power Tour & they had an Auto-X that I didn't know about (poor computer skills). I was bumbed out, had I known that they (Hot Rod) were having an Auto-X I would have busted *ss & been ready. I didn't see it posted anywhere. But I'm now ready for the Auto-X & I plan to be in Milwaukee Friday July 17th & 18th. Anyway you know how plans go, always subject to change. The new Global West lower "A" arms are on & the MT DOT (255-60/15) streets are mounted. This car won't be spinning the tires at 45-50 MPH any more. I only got a short drive Friday bringing it home from the front end shop between rain drops. It did get wet, but the traction of the MT drag radials is very good as they did better in the wet than my old Goodyear's GT+2's. And the steering is beyond words TIGHT-FAST, the shop owner (Freeman Alignment) said it was the Tightest recirculating box steering he had ever encountered. So if mother nature ever quits raining I'll get it out for some test runs (FUN). Bob Jr.
