lost key need helpful information

I would have to look at my shop manual but I would imagine it is possible to replace the ignition tumbler without the key. You will have to pull the wheel, the lock plate and then pull out the turn signal switch (not necessary to fish the turn signal switch wiring up out of the column). From there my memory is a little fuzzy. I think the normal replacement proceedure assumes having the key. Hopefully others will chime in. You could also google "replace GM ignition lock without key" and look for a youtube video on a similar era GM column.

thank you for responding I think I will just call a lock smith sounds easier also one other ? for u I have deleted the ac & heat box the wiring harness below it can I just take it out or does it have something to do with some thing else

I did this before for my cutlass I got a junk yard column and it had no key. I can't remember anything beyond that so my help is useless lol. It can't be that hard trust me if I forgot its because it was easy.

If you pull the ignition cylinder there is a code on it, a good locksmith can cut a key from it. Did it on my cousins 69 Electra

I don't know. Sorry I'm not more help on that. Here in Houston doing away with the A/C is unthinkable.
